Hi guys - This post is semi-dependent on me getting into the PMHNP program for 2018. At my current university, the previous five or so cohorts that graduated prior to us made a google docs page for posting their personal study guides for exams and other pertinent information to allow future students the opportunity to actually study instead of looking up all of the study guide answers, etc. Is this something that is done at VU or if not, would anyone be interested in starting a "senior buddies" google docs that the next class can pass down to the next group and on and on? Especially early on in any program, something like this can be invaluable in terms of budgeting time.

Hey dphom, We were advised to brush up on Anatomy and Physiology. How crucial is this for doing well going into June? I guess what I'm asking is do I need to study all of the artery names, nerve names, etc. and for phys do I need to know it down to the letter again? Or just do a general review of the subjects? Thanks!

Well, since both of our OKC apps say "Pending" then maybe that is a good thing. I looked back at your questions, and personally I would think that having your core science classes completed would be a major plus. The histories are not a big deal, in my mind at least. As long as your GPA and Science #s are good. However, I'm not sure anyone has ever said how they preference unfinished courses. If you read my comment earlier, you'd see that I'm finishing physiology right now.

Hey, everybody wake up!!! My Lawton App says "Admitted to another program." Which I'm assuming is positive for my OKC app. But, OKC still says "Pending." Go check your status!

Hey Everyone, I applied just in time for OKC and Duncan (2). I have around a 3.5 last 60 and a 4 in sciences, however I am finishing Physio right now. So, I guess we'll see how big of a deal that is. I'm also looking at the OCCC accelerated. Has anyone worked out the cost difference in doing OU vs. OCCC and finishing up at a 4 year for BSN? Good Luck All!!!

I have been researching at this site for quite some time and like it, but this is my first post. I am looking to apply to the OU ABSN in August. I want to get started asap, so the Duncan location which starts six months earlier in the year is very appealing, but of course I'm in Edmond, closer to OKC. So, not sure on location yet. For those who are familiar, how difficult is it to make straight A's in the accelerated program? It's very important for my potential career path to do well. With the program being condensed do the professors make it doable, meaning do they make it possible to make A's with the more limited study time? Also, you're in a class with other 3.5/4.0 students, so does that come into play with how difficult it is or how they grade? Do they make you compete against each other for grades? I'm hoping to finish my sciences with a 4.0 in the fall and I will have around a 3.5 last 60 hrs I think. Is there a chance that I would be waitlisted? Thanks for any help!
