  1. Hello, Did you have medical experience before you became a RN? I'm asking because the experience you've listed does not represent much patient care at the bedside. I'm quite surprised you were able to obtain these positions within your first two years as a RN. From what you've posted you have very limited clinical experience.
  2. Thanks for the kind words. It's been hard as I put so much effort into this, but this is life.... Another stab is the fact I worked with a nurse that had a 2.8 GPA, and honestly was not what I would consider a decent nurse, and got right into UNC for FNP. He was from Ghana. It seems they prefer foreign students for cultural diversity. I wish everyone the best in all you do. Sorry to those who have been waitlisted or denied.....I guess they want you to give them your firstborn to get in LOL....Next year I'm claiming American Indian hahahaha I'll let you know how that works out!
  3. Since I didn't get accepted to the RN-MSN/FNP program, I decided to spend this year finishing my BSN. I have been accepted to UNCW RN-BSN program. I start classes in June. Will reapply to BSN-DNP program in the future. I will apply to several schools this time instead of just UNC. Best of luck to everyone.
  4. I did not get into the FNP Program. I am disheartened as I feel I was a highly qualified candidate. I have a national certification in critical care, worked as a nurse since 2009, and planned to practice in a rural community. I had a great GPA, 5 excellent letters of recommendation and Bam! That's it. Now I will begin the application process at other schools....best of luck.
  5. I didn't get in. So sad. I gave it all I had. Sitting in class right now trying to keep it together.
  6. No letter today, hopefully Monday...
  7. I live in Clayton....applied to the RN-MSN/FNP program.....dying here!
  8. I was told by the end of the month, via email.....
  9. I was told we would receive an email or would be able to see our application status online. My application status states "submitted". So frustrating.
  10. Hello, I have applied to the RN-MSN/FNP. I am anxiously awaiting too. All pre reqs were completed with 4.0 gpa except for 9 credit hours of social science in which I finish in 2 weeks. I obtained a national certification in critical care (CCRN) and since it was 2 days before the application due date they did an addendum to my application. They sounded VERY INTERESTED in the CCRN.....don't know why.... I'm getting more anxious everyday! I wish everyone the best of luck. Go Tar Heels!
