university of Miami ABSN Summer 2017
So I checked my canelink today as I've been doing every day obsessively (lol), and the application status has changed from incomplete to complete! However it doesn't say anywhere what the decision is. No email or letter, but I imagine this means we'll be finding out soon.

I called today and apparently they're running about 2 weeks behind. We should hear something by Thanksgiving.

Yes mine does also. I think it says that until they finish processing your application, based on the threads from previous years.

I got the canelink a few weeks after I applied but it's just the login. I still don't know if I've been accepted.

I called the nursing school today to see if there was any update. The person who answered was kind of vague, but he basically said that they were still reviewing applications and we should hear something by either email or snail mail in the next week or two. It sounded like they hadn't admitted anyone yet.

Accelerated BSN FAU Spring 2017
I'm not sure either. I think I saw on the FAU website somewhere that as long as all the transcripts are at least received by nursingCAS, FAU will be able to access them.

Accelerated BSN FAU Spring 2017
I'm in the same boat! One of my transcripts was received by them about 3 weeks ago and it's still being verified. They say it can take up to 4 weeks.

Wow that really is quick!! Now I'm feeling super rushed to finish up, but I'm waiting to finish a class next week for the transcripts. Are you transcripts verified? NursingCAS received one of mine several weeks ago and it's still being processed.

I haven't applied anywhere else yet. There are a few other accelerated programs in FL that start in May but they're all 3+ hours away, so then I would definitely have to move. What is your first degree in? Mine is psychology. I wonder if they prefer applicants with science degrees like biology?

I'm not sure yet. Miami traffic can be pretty horrific so I'm going to drive down there and see what the commute and area are actually like. And it also depends on what the class and clinical schedule looks like (if there are long breaks during the day). What about your living situation? Are you applying to any other programs?

I live a little over an hour from the campus in the West Palm Beach area.

I'm going to start the statement in the next couple of days. I'm just brainstorming right now. Everything else I have filled out, except for waiting on evaluations and transcripts. From reading other threads, it seems like people start getting accepted pretty early. After the first month or so of when the application period opens.

I'm applying! I'm just waiting to finish up some pre-reqs next month so that the transcripts will have the final grade.

New Grad Programs for ADN?
Thanks! I'm sure some things will have changed by the time I'm licensed, but the clarification is appreciated.

New Grad Programs for ADN?
I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself with this question - but it can't hurt to plan! So I just took the TEAS and I'm planning on starting an ADN program in January. I'd prefer to go straight into BSN, but I already have a bachelor's degree in another field and the only "accelerated" program near me has a very long waiting list. I figure it will be faster to just do the ADN and then RN to BSN. Anyway... I read through the threads on here all the time, especially the Nurse Beth Q&As. She's always referring to "new grad programs" for the first year after graduation. I started to look into these and it looks like they're all for BSN grads only. I can't find any for ADN grads and the BSN programs all state that if you have over a year of experience, you're not eligible (so I won't be able to work while getting BSN to be eligible??). Is this correct or am I not looking in the right places? What's the best track for a new ADN grad?

Is private duty nursing a stable job? Options for LPN's?
I live in the same area (work in gardens, live in Wellington) that you mention. I work at an assisted living that only hires LPNs and 1 RN supervisor. Have her look into Brookdale. There are a lot of locations around here.
