  1. Yes, it is my understanding that they are only good for two years.
  2. The CPR card looks something like this... http://www.blssacramento.com/images/BLSCard.jpg
  3. I'm sure they will go over it at orientation, but you should have a card for CPR certification and you can go online and print out your CNA registry here: NC HCPR: Verify Registry Listings (scroll down a bit and there is a place to put in your social # and name).
  4. Search for the Facebook group Forsyth Tech ADN Spring 2017 and request to be added.
  5. For some reason it will not let me add you. Can you search for the group and request to be added?
  6. Thankfully I live in Winston-Salem but I've heard of people commuting. I've looked at the schedules for this coming semester and it looks like most options are class and lab from 8:30-3 twice a week and clinical from 6:30-12:30 once a week. Clinical days may be rough as you'll have to get up pretty early to commute but I'm sure you can do it! Also, do you have an email so I can add you to our Facebook group?
  7. I'm not sure as I've kept mine up to date. But if you are still registered and your license hasn't expired I'm guessing you should still be okay? I'm sure it's something that will be covered in the orientation.
  8. @moeevans and @cupcake86 CONGRATS!! Would y'all private message me your email addresses so I can add you to the Facebook group I created for our class? I figured that it would be much easier to communicate with one another that way.
  9. I've just received my acceptance packet in the mail! Anyone else get theirs today?
  10. Go to "Web Advisor Menu" --> "Web Advisor for Students" -->"My Academic Profile" --> "Program Evaluation" and you should see a change there.
  11. EVERYONE, CHECK YOUR TECHLINK! I just looked at my "Program Evaluation" and it changed from "Gen Occup Tech-Assoc Degree Nursing" to "Associate Degree Nursing". So I GOT IN!!!! Yay! Hopefully this means our packets will be coming in the mail soon as well. I'm crossing my fingers for everyone. I'll also made a Facebook Group for our class so it will be easier to communicate with one another. If you've been accepted please send me your email address in a private message on this site so I can send you an invitation to the group. My name is Stephanie, by the way. YAY! I look forward to meeting you all in orientation.
  12. They will send an acceptance packet in the mail toward the end of October as well. But usually around the 15th of October we should be able to see a change on our Techlink under "Program Evaluation".
  13. In about a month we should be able to check Techlink and under "Program Evaluation" see if we are in the program. It usually changes from "Gen Occup Tech-Associate Degree Nursing" to just "Associate Degree Nursing" before they even send out acceptance letters. I'm getting so anxious! Good luck to everyone!
  14. I got accepted into the LPN program for this Fall but decided just to go ahead and do the ADN route. If I had done LPN I wouldn't graduate with it until next Summer and then I'd have to work 6 months full time before applying to the LPN-RN transition. I'm just ready to get my RN asap! As I already have a BA (not in nursing but in art history) I'm planning on applying to the NNP program at Duke University as soon as I can after getting my ADN so I'm trying to the quickest route possible. Hopefully I'll have everything finished within 5 years!
  15. I officially applied to the program yesterday! Took my MAR Review and am going to use the TEAS scores from the test I took earlier year when I had applied to the LPN program. Now we have to wait until mid-late October to find out if I'm in! BTW, I took a class this summer and they still let me do my MAR Review even though the package says we can't until after August 22nd! Good luck to everyone! I'm so anxious to finally start this program!
  16. JustGonnaGoForIt, Just make sure you have Microsoft Office package on your computer. This includes Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. The whole class (CIS 110) is devoted to learning how to use those programs.
  17. I am taking Microbiology in the Fall at Forsyth Tech. I just noticed that the online RN-BSN program I plan to attend through Appalachian State University does not require you to have chemistry! That's a relief! They just want you to have Microbiology and Statistics, the latter of which I have already taken. Nursing (RN-BSN) | Distance Education | Appalachian State University
  18. DirahMartin, Chemistry is not a prerequisite. Only sciences that are needed for the ADN are BIO 168 & BIO 169. If you plan to get your BSN it will likely be required. JustGonnaGoForIt, why do you need to give them the chemistry class information? Also, take CIS 110 online. It was SO EASY!
  19. Just an FYI: The new Online Information Session is up on the Forsyth Tech website. First step complete!
  20. I've heard back from the nursing admissions and they said that the Online Information Session pdf should be up within the next few days! When does everyone plan to do their MAR Review?
  21. Sorry, you're right. I was looking at something different! I'm going to call them tomorrow to see when it is up. MAR Reviews are supposed to start this week for Spring 2017 so I don't know why it's not up yet.
  22. The new nursing information session for MAR review is already up on their website as well as the new admissions requirement packet. Associate Degree Nursing - Forsyth Tech
  23. It may be too late for you to take ENG 114 over at this point as all classes being considered for points for the ADN program must be completed by the of Summer session (which is mid July). That class would only give you an extra six points if you made an A anyway so if you have good grades in all other pre-reqs I think you should be fine! If you look at the MAR Review packet that is on the Forsyth Tech ADN website page the lowest amount of points that was accepted into the program for the Fall of this year was 142. I have 162 right now so I'm feeling pretty confident! How about you all...how many points do you have?
