Hospital Job
I kept applying and the first nurse that rejected me for the position ended up hiring me and I didn't have to do a second interview. It is tough to get in, I wanted to give up and thought maybe something was wrong with me. I'm glad with the support of my family and friends I kept applying and going to interviews and I guess that determination is what got me in. It's better for us to already be in the hospital setting while getting our RN so we can show our work ethic and hiring from within is less stressful being a new nurse applying to the company.

I just received a job at the hospital of my dreams as a pct in the med surg department. Do anyone have any insight to give a newbie to a hospital setting?

Has anyone questioned becoming a nurse?
Is there a faith base hospital near you because that is where I have seen the most nicest nurses and they go above and beyond and one prayed with me once, when I was having complication after my pregnancy....Compared to the state hospital.

Has anyone questioned becoming a nurse?
I too went the extra mile to be nice, my patients were alway surprise how happy I was and said it made them happy to see my face. I alway told them I like to send positive vibes to make everyone happy. I remember one of my patient I met me for the first time and was mean to me at first but was nice to me once she saw my personality she said, "you're not like the others". I have been where you are questioning if I want to go to nursing school but in the end of the day the hospital needs positive people like us because to me smiling is contagious you send good vibes and makes those around you want to smile. You can do this :-)!

Hospital Job
I also just got my CNA license in December and it's been two months at my current job at an assisted living, I don't know if that also is a factor but I am going to email the Nurse manager to see why and get pointers to correct anything. I already am in with HR but the Nurse Manager interviews are not getting through.

Hospital Job
I have applied for Florida Hospital and have done three interviews but have received no longer under consideration. Is it hurting me telling the Nurse Manager my career goals to get my BSN and I am applying as a PCT to further my skills while in school completing my prerequisites. I don't know what I am doing wrong? Florida Hospital is the company I want to work for and retire at.
