  1. Mina28, I have the same question! Does anyone here know what our potential class schedule will look like on a weekly basis for the first quarter in January 2017? My job is pushing pretty hard right now to let them know what days of the week I will be available... Any information, even if its just general info, would be helpful! Thank you!
  2. Thank you Mitra! I just received the same email. Sounds like we will get our calendar and clinical assignments for winter! :) As for affordable places to live... I have not found any. My wife and I currently live in Issaquah about 10 minutes from the campus, but this comes at a pretty high cost. We chose Issaquah because I work at the hospital up in the highlands and she teaches at a local elementary school nearby, so it made sense for us. I wish you the best!
  3. Hi!! Excited to meet you this winter. Here is a thread for the winter cohort: https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/bellevue-college-nursing-1058719.html
  4. I know emails are not as "personal" but I would prefer this type of communication over standard postal mail... My letters get lost too often! I'm not sure how the orientation information will come, but I feel like it might be sent via snail mail... I'm excited to meet you all too! :)
  5. Nice to meet you Cynthia! I completely understand your excitement -it seems like it took forever to get my acceptance letter! I was actually headed to check my mailbox for a package when I noticed the Bellevue letter. I was both excited and nervous to open it! Now I feel like I can relax a little bit. I wanted to post a quick tip for anyone having trouble paying the $50 registration fee. If you have never been a Bellevue College student before and/or have never taken classes at Bellevue College, when you go to pay the registration fee, it will error out with the message "failed: you must have a registration appointment time" or something similar. You will need to call the Nursing department and have then enter the registration code for you so you can pay the fee by the deadline. Cynthia, I think we are just waiting for them to schedule the mandatory orientation date. If anyone finds out the date for the orientation, please post it here! My postal service is not the best and I don't want to miss this important information! -Brent
  6. Nice to meet you! My name is Brent, btw. I took a CNA course a couple of years ago in Bellevue, although I don't think it exists anymore... It took a couple of months to complete and was worth it, as it helped me get into the hospital. My my letter did not have a date for the mandatory orientation, it just said to be anounced... I'm excited to get started!!!
  7. Hey Everyone! I just wanted to start a Bellevue College Nursing page for the Winter 2017 cohort! If you got into this cohort or are still in the application process tell us who you are! It would be nice to get to know other students in the program and pass along information to help each other out. A little about me... I just received a letter that I was accepted into the winter 2017 cohort yesterday! :) I am new to BC, so navigating the campus and the application process is new for me. I'm originally from Michigan, where I completed most of the prerequisite courses while obtaining my B.S. degree (I was originally pre-med, planning the MD route...). My other prerequisites were completed after I moved here through Lake Washington Institute of Tech. I am currently working in the ER at Swedish hospital which has been an amazing opportunity to learn a ton about medicine. I am 29 and male. That's about all for now! Hope to work with some of you soon!
  8. Melissa121, I have not heard anything yet. Pretty discouraging. :-/ It just kills me to know I'm next on the list, and may not get in. I'm still hopeful a spot will somehow open up. I'll just have to wait and see. The wait list closes in August, so that's a long time to wait... Congratulations to everyone that made it in though, well done! :)
  9. So happy for you!!! Now you can relax Melissa121! I should be next on the list after you... But have not heard anything yet... í ½í¸© A little more anxious now...
  10. Melissa121, my understanding is that they will email you, so check your inbox regularly! They may (or may not) also call, but if they do, I would suspect a voicemail would be left with instructions on how to accept/decline the offer and who to contact. We are so close now, the anticipation is almost unbearable! haha I keep checking back here to see if you have heard anything...
  11. Annkat, you are correct -the date is the 29th of April for candidates to decide. I've learned that the admission process is continually rolling, such that, when a student who has received an acceptance letters declines the invitation, the next person on the wait list gets an offer. I just learned yesterday that BC is all the way to the 4th person on the wait list! So our chances are pretty good Melissa121!! I would guess more people will decline as the 29th approaches. We should know either way in a little over a week! So nervous and excited!
  12. Hey everyone, congratulations! I am #6 on the wait list for fall!! @Melissa121, I hope at least few other applicants find positions at other schools so we can join in the celebration! What do you think the probability is of getting to the 6th position on the wait list? I've heard of some years going all the way to 12, but that seems a bit rare... Good luck everyone! Very nervous!
