My mentor said the same thing..if my PA was 10 points over the cut grade, I was advised to just go ahead and take the OA. I think we're just so accustomed to trying to get THE BEST grade we can, but their theory is to just PASS the class and move on. Which is totally understandable!

I just started June 1st and have ALL my nursing classes opened (all 10 of them). I perused the first 3 (study guides, read course chatter... etc) to see which ones I wanted to start off with. My mentor is great and does not hold me back one bit. My mentor even approved my OA for a class I am no where near ready to test, but knows I may want to do it this weekend and doesn't want me waiting on their behalf. You need to build trust with your mentor and if they can determine you know what you're doing and have a good handle on things, hopefully they will be encouraging.

Hello, I just started June 1st as well for RN-BSN. I've already completed one course and hope to have another completed by Sunday. I am MOTIVATED to complete all 10 Nursing courses in this 6 month term!! Unfortunately I start a new (and demanding job) on Monday, and have kids home all summer I hope my kids don't kill my motivation.

Depends on your time, motivation, and previous experience. They gauge each class to be about 3-4 weeks. People have done it in 6 mos. I just started June 1st and already completed 2 classes (out of 11) and hope to have the third done by Sunday. I start a new job on Monday so wanted to get as much out of the way as possible. I PLAN to have it all done within 6 mos if I have to stay up all night until then. lol But obviously as I advance thru the program the classes will become more challenging, so I'm remaining positive I can pull it off. I received an answer from WGU. For future reference for anyone interested, 120 CUs are needed to graduate in the RN-BSN from WGU, of which only a max of 90 CUs will be converted from transferring in credits (ADN, Bachelor's in another field, other college classes, etc..). Yes, I could possibly pass those assessments quickly and early, but... there's no way around it.

I am currently about 1/3rd of the way through the RN-BSN online program with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), and am wondering if I'd be able to finish the program quicker by transferring to WGU and completing the rest in one semester. Does anyone have any experience transferring in BSN level credits from another institution, and were the credits applied to competency units? SNHU changed their online program about a year ago and now requires about twice the amount of courses to receive your BSN, which sucks. Therefore, what I expected to take me about a year to finish will be about 18 mos. Thanks for any input. April
