  1. Just got an email with a link to acceptance to the accelerated program in Tyler. It was sent 4:40 PM Central. I had 98.9 points.
  2. I only applied to 2 schools and was accepted to TWU-Dallas yesterday. I'm eagerly awaiting the results too. My total points were around 96. I like UT-Tyler's faster 16 month completion time but it seems it's really 19 months so was bummed to hear it was actually 3 months longer. I imagine the program starts in January 2017 and ends the last week in July 2018 with a pinning/convocation ceremony the 1st week of August. Hope everyone gets favorable news and into a program! http://www.uttyler.edu/nursing/files/accelerated-track-schedule.pdf
  3. Just got my acceptance 4:09 PM Central Time Texas Stats Nursing GPA 4.0 TEAS 88 NO TWU BUMP YES Prior Bachelors
  4. Their acceptances are just based off the 100 point system on the online application. They don't take into account healthcare experience, volunteering, references, interviews, etc. Supposedly, their accelerated program has decreased spots from prior years to 35-50. I'm not sure what prior admitted have points wise. I think if you have 90+, you should have a good shot.
  5. I'm going to sound like a broken record lol. I got the the ATI manual, took the practice exam in the book, and gauged where my weaknesses where in. In my case, it was sciences since it I took them roughly 4~6 years ago. The ATI manual does a decent job on the general aspect of what to expect for sciences. However, I remember material on the actual exam that were not in the book. Also, I watched youtube videos. There's plenty of good ones on there. I used Bozeman Sciences, CrashCourse, and Khan Acedemy mainly. Hopefully, you'll find one suited for your tastes. I spent roughly a week just reviewing the material for a couple hours a day. You should also check out this post made by another member if you haven't already. It was pretty helpful. https://allnurses.com/teas-exam-help/how-i-passed-804222.html I didn't buy the online practice tests, but I timed myself for each section at home to mimic the time restraints. Hope it goes well for you!
  6. Hey All - I'm also applying to TWU. I spoke to an advisor recently at Denton and was under the impression the 32 TWU hour bump would put lots of people in. Unfortunately, I don't have that. My advisor said my prior bachelor's would account for something, albeit a small boost. Like others confirmed here, TWU is only looking at the nursing core GPA going forward. In my case, that was very helpful, since 14 years ago I got a couple of C's. But have made straight As in all my sciences. My stats: Nursing Core GPA 4.0 TEAS V 88% Prior Bachelors ~ 3.4 If we apply to one campus, I'm assuming we won't be considered for the other? It appears the Houston Campus is less competitive, but I would prefer Dallas. Also, is that TWU GPA calculator still accurate? I calculated my points to be 61.47 (it added 8 points for a prior BS)
  7. Hey ladies and guys! Anyone prepping for the Accelerated BSN for 2017?! I just need to complete my TEAS V. Good luck all!
