  1. I would be interested in looking into something closer but LA would be an option too. What at can I do in the mean time as I wait though? Is there anything I should study?
  2. Hello everyone! So before I start a long post of questions I'll add some details about myself. I, like all of those 80,000 people in California, am aiming for an ADN. I have my GED right now and am enrolled in AMU (American Military University) so I can take my general education classes online. My classes don't start until fall but I'd like so head start info about the ADN programs. I'm planning on transferring to community college the year after so I can complete my pre-requisites and finally apply for the nursing program. Now I am very excited because I've wanted to be a nurse since I was 16 and I'm 19 now. I really want to focus on all of this and although I know it won't be easy and it'll be VERY stressful but during and after I complete school, I'm willing to try. what concerns me is when I talked to the counselor at my community college, he spoke about being wait listed before even getting into the nursing program. The thought terrifies me because first off I didn't know until that day that was going to happen, and after some research I found that the wait listing time averages from a few months to up to 5 years depending on which state. My question is what is the average wait list time in California? How long did any of you get wait listed for? What can or should I do during the time I get wait listed? I cant afford to move anywhere, hence why I live with my aunt. I love in Bakersfield, California and I could commute to another school but not one too far away. Any ideas? thanks in advance!!
