I should've included in my initial post that we have to interview someone we don't work under.

Nurse Leadership Assignment-SIUE
Hello, I am a student in an online RN-BSN program. I am currently working on my last course for my BSN, for one of our upcoming assignments we have to interview a nurse leader. I am a travel nurse that works nights so I have pretty much no interaction with management. I'm wondering if someone in this forum is a nurse leader or knows a nurse leader that would be willing to answer a few interview questions via email for my assignment. I would need to know credentials and contact information for the assignment as well. If anyone is willing to be interviewed I would greatly appreciate it.

Winter footwear suggestions
No I only were them from the parking lot to the break room and change into my work shoes. Do your BOGS provide good traction when walking on ice?

Winter footwear suggestions
This is my 1st winter as a nurse. I'm living in the Midwest and the temperatures are freezing and the streets and sidewalks are covered in snow and ice. For those of you dealing with the same snowy conditions what winter footwear do you wear with your scrubsI have uggs but they look grumpy and wrinkle the bottom of my scrub pants. Thanks!

New ortho nurse
Most of the time we have 2 CNAs for almost 30 patients. Things like frequent vitals (which eat up most of your time) we cant delegate those. At times it does feel like I am doing everything but we are very understaffed when it comes to CNAs especially on my shift(2nd shift).

New ortho nurse
Hello,I'm a new ortho nurse just off of orientation. I had one month of orientation on a med pulm floor then 3 weeks on my ortho floor. My nurse manager is starting me off with a lighter load of 4 patients(the usual is 5). On any given day we can have up to 20 new surgical patients. That means frequent VS, CMSTs, pain management, and other things. On orientation I did well with time management and charting in a timely manner but now that I'm on my own I feel like I'm running nonstop, literally not having one minute to sit. I've had to stay over to finish up charting. My coworkers tell me it gets better with time but I'm worried that it won't. It is only my 2nd day off of orientation so I maybe jumping the gun but I'm just curious if you have any advice for a new ortho nurse to help the transition from orientation to being on my own go a little smoother. Thank you!

Stethoscope for new grad
I'm a new grad who will be working on the ortho unit of one of the area hospitals. Throughout nursing school and the 1st month of orientation I have been using my MDF acoustica. During school I noticed that I had a hard time hearing lung sounds and sometimes heart sounds but now that I'm working as a full time nurse its starting to interfere with my assessments. Do you have any recommendations for stethoscopes for an ortho nurse?
