    From my experience some of the best first assists I have had the pleasure of working with have been Surgical Techs. I do respect your opinion that this is an area that nurses need to fight to keep a foot hold in as much as possible.

    I also say Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery should be number one on your list. Also get a copy of AORN's Recommended Practices. This will help out with understanding the standards of care to which we should be accountable to. Scott.
