  1. Hi, I am currently living in Australia and was thinking about going to the US and doing travel nursing in the OR. How are the ORs set up in the US? Here in Australia we specialise in a certain field (i.e. I do Plastics and ENT) and we also do both roles, scrub/scout. Do nurses in the US specialise in a certain field or do they have to do all areas in the OR? Many thanks for any help on this issue. By the way I am an RN. :)
  2. Hi Everyone, I am a surgical scrub nurse living in Australia. I completed my Bachelor of Nursing here in OZ and have worked for a few years both on the wards and most currently in theatre. I am looking to relocate to the UK as the majority of my family are there. I am a UK citizen but understand that since I completed my studies outside of the UK I need to go through the process of applying to NMC and taking the test, doing the OSCE etc. My questions are; 1) How are the roles set out in theatres there? i.e. here I do both scrub and circulating roles intra-op. Not much experience pre or post op. I have heard about ODP. Is this similar to my role or would I just be a regular scrub nurse? 2) Are there any courses in the UK that can be taken to reinforce or upgrade my role? Or maybe any sort of short theatre courses available in order to assimilate into theatre practice there i.e. hospital based introductory courses, online courses, university courses etc? Any help would be appreciated from UK nurses or nurses who have relocated. Thanks in advance. :)
