  1. Medical Surgical Nurse Tech? HELP

    Hi, I am currently a nursing student in Texas, I applied for a Nurse Tech position and was given the opportunity to choose 2 specialties and get interviewed. I chose both Medical Surgical and Nursery. My top choice is Nursery but I chose Medical Surgical because my professors have always told me it is a good idea to start of in Medical Surgical to get a proper foundation. I only got interviewed for the Medical Surgical position and I got an offer. My question is, do you all think it is wise to start of in a med surg floor or go directly to the floor of our dreams? I graduate in exactly 1 year and I thought it would be a good experience to get some Medical Surgical experience while still in school but then again I do not think I want to be a med surg nurse. THank you all in advance for your time!
