  1. Thankyou very much for the reply.. I did hear that it is a very tough exam... From what i hear it sounds like one needs to have through knowledge and hands on experience in ER..
  2. Thankyou very much. God bless

  6. Hi i am also a foreign nurse out of school for 6 years and mother of a 6 month old. Passed exam in 75 questions in first attempt when my son was 4 month old. If i could pass you could too.. Now my tips 1) limit your time on internet. 2) deactivate facebook 3) stop socialising and all kind of negativity for another 2 months. 4) do a chapter of saunders everyday 3) dont do pharmacology from saunders 5) after each chapter do as many questions as possible. Kaplan question helped me a lot. 6) in your spare time listen to helen feuers audio review. It helped me a lot. Google helen feuers audio free download. Listen to few audios and if you like it purchase the audio. 7) i studied pharmacology from helen feuers you could buy just the pharmacology part for a small price. It is concised and to the point. Dont bother studying anything out of it. All my questions were from the feuers. 8) dont waste any time listen to your while taking a bath, cooking and eating. 9) make sure u read the rationale of every question you do. 10) psychiatry, pediatry and pharmacology listen to feuers they tell you how to approch a question. 11)make sure you read every question throughly. 12) above all pray consistently. Good luck, you will be fine.
  7. Hi everyone I would like to share my experience with NCLEX In hope of bringing a bit of positivity to my fellow nurses preparing for the exam. Let me introduce myself as a mother of 6 month old baby, i did my nursing school in India and hence preparing for the exam was not an easy task for me.i got my ATT in june, when i was pregnant with my son he was due in august. I decided to stArt studying and write the exam before my son arrived. Let me tell you this, the exam pattern in India and here is totally different Hence i found it extremely difficult, anyhow i didnt give up, i sat down with my saunders for one full month and studied meticulously at this time i was 8 months pregnant. By july i found it extremely hard to sit down for more than ten minutes with my huge tummy. it was very stressful as well since nesting hit me. I couldn't concentrate and was growing tired and breathless after few minutes of sitting so, decided to postpone studing. I restared after my baby was 2 months old, it got much more harder with the baby around. Now it was cooking and cleaning for my family, taking care of my baby and studying. i had to do everything single handedly. Often i felt i couldn't do it. I had no support nor did I knew anything about the exam, I graduated in 2009 hence studying after such a big gap made things worse. I used saunders to study the content, after each chapter i did kaplan q bank and also heard Helen feuers audio review while i did my daily chores and fed the baby. By the time my son was 4 months old i felt prepared to take the exam. Took it and passed in 75 questions. I was just an average student at school, but with all these adversities if I could pass NCLEX RN in 75 questions anyone could. Submit all your plans to god, be persistent with prayers and start studying. Good luck
  8. you are right, thankyou. but i really would like to work in ER. Any tip on how to get a job in ER?
  9. hi all, I am an international nurse who wants to be an emergency room nurse. Since i have no experience is in ER i am assuming that i wont get any job in ER. I have three years of experience in neuro rehb ( in England) and 1 year in dialysis ( India,) please tell me if this experience would aid me in getting a job in ER or will it be prudent to get certified as an emergency nurse? even if i get certified without experince in ER will anyone hire me? Does a CEN get paid more than others? for a nurse with no experience in USA nor in the ER which is the best CE review book? any input is much appreciated.
