  1. I do. I am also in college full time and working 4 days a week. Stress stress stress.
  2. I just don't know if I am cut out to be a nurse anymore. I've been a CNA for almost a year now. While I enjoy the work and truly love my residents, I cannot handle rude coworkers or family members. I break down into a panic/crying fit after a bad shift where I've dealt with people just being ugly with me. I've been degraded over and over and still continue to bust my ass for my residents. I can't even remember the last time I've actually taken my dinner break. As a nurse, I know situations like this will come up a lot. I can't just break down crying on the job. Has anyone else had similar experiences but learned to "toughen up?"???? I love and admire all that nurses do and would love to be apart of that, but if I don't have the emotional stability for it, will I be disappointed in my career choice? Really needing some words of wisdom.
  3. I'm interested in geriatrics but ultimately want to earn my master's degree which will require hospital experience. HR says that you will be "favorably reconsidered" for rehire if you turn in a notice. The only way I could stay at the hospital is if I continue to float floors which is the sole reason I want to quit. I'm just going to take the ALF job as of now. There are plenty of other hospitals in my area if my current employer doesn't choose to rehire me in the future.
  4. I've been working as a CNA PRN at the hospital closest to me. I really hate working PRN because I'm always on a different floor working with people I don't know. I never know what I'm getting myself into that day and find myself worrying about what floor I'm going to be on CONSTANTLY. All floors do things differently and the RNs get frustrated with CNAs who don't know the routine. It may sound silly, but it really stresses me out. I recently got a job at an assisted living facility and I believe I will enjoy it much more. I've only been working at the hospital for 2 months. If I turn in a notice, will I still be able to get rehired as an RN after I finish school? I don't want to destroy my chances of getting a job there in the future, but I also can't keep putting myself through the stress. I've considered working both jobs for a while, but I've realized that I can't schedule two jobs around school.
