  1. Do any of you guys live in Tampa or will be moving to the Tampa area for this program? I’ll be signing a lease soon but hoping I have some classmates who live nearby to do things together/be study buddies!
  2. Hey! I’m applying as well. I applied to the full time FNP track. I submitted my app in December too. Just waiting to hear back for an interview hopefully!
  3. Hey! Current senior in UF's Traditional BSN program. Do not worry about registering, you will have to get use to CON doing things on their own schedule lol. But there's no rush! You will have a Fall semester schedule soon, and you will be able to register for all your classes with no problems or fees. I am waiting for my schedule as well for Fall 2017. I know they don't give you a lot of information at first, but you will have plenty of time to order scrubs, books, shoes, etc. Do NOT buy any books now. Wait until orientation in August to see the book packages they will offer you (the package changes every year). I personally found it extremely helpful to have eBooks and order physical copies from Amazon, too. I wish the best of luck for you guys!! It is SO exciting to be starting a program that leads to your forever career! Do not let any of the older students scare you away with saying "oh this class is SO HARD". You are capable of completing this program with great grades. The most challenging part I feel like, is determining the type of test style your professor uses, what classes you should focus more on, and what comes to you naturally (bc this is different for each person). This will not come to you like instinct first semester, but you will be pros second semester. Continue to relax and enjoy the summer. Don't worry about anything, cause our boy Ken has our backs and will email us promptly when new information is released.
  4. Hi, my email said we have until June 13th to confirm our position!
  5. Awesome! I have friends who go there and applied for its nursing program. Is UF or UNF your first choice?
  6. I know right!! So some people may get their acceptance one day, and others may wait another day or two. Waiting is the worst part! No I haven't applied to other schools, I figured that if I didn't get in I could do the accelerated program. Plus i already signed my apartment lease for next year, so no going back!! Lol Where are you transferring from?
  7. No, it's never a set number of transfers. It depends on how strong the application pool is, and apparently it gets stronger every year.... which isn't good for me either lol. My friend thats a Junior in the nursing program said there was only 1 transfer student in her class. But i know someone who's a Senior and she said she's got like 3 or 4! Ken said they would come out around June (there is never a set date bc they send the emails out 1 by 1 and take their time) (I'm assuming mid to late June like it always is) I believe they send emails! That's what my friend got last year when she found out she got in :)
  8. Hi! During the meetings, Ken, (Nursing Advisor at UF) would say how they view each applicant differently. Most importantly is GPA, and its always great to include extracurriculars/volunteering but that was totally optional on the application. They say a student's GPA is a future indicator of how well they'll do in UF's program. UF's courses are much harder than typical universities and thats why there isn't an entrance exam to apply for this program (like the TEAS Test)! You've got a great GPA!! It never hurts to apply to other schools because I know that for this program, native UF students are priority. It's rare for transfers to be accepted, MAYBE 1 or 2 transfers are accepted out of all the transfer applicants because it's so competitive and the #1 Nursing Program in Florida. But do not be discouraged because you could be that one transfer student that is accepted!!! Best of luck and hope to see you in the program next year :)
  9. Of course, never lose hope because there's always a possibility :)
  10. I am a current UF student who also applied for the BSN 2016 program. I have a lot of friends who are in the Nursing program right now and can tell you some info :) The program at UF is strictly based on your prerequisite GPA, and the average is a 3.8 They have stressed at many of the meetings that extracurriculars/awards/references are all optional on the application, so it shows how important GPA is. But this is different for every individual, if someone is riding borderline with a 3.65 they may look at their extracurriculars and volunteer hours. Because it is such a competitive undergraduate program (and the best in the state), students who are enrolled at UF get first priority and it's rare they accept transfers. Santa Fe is still a great school, and has an awesome Nursing program. In the end you'll be an RN, so don't be discouraged. I wish you the best of luck :)
