  1. Hey, Sorry to hear you didn't get in.... Points probably an 85-87ish. I am more then happy to send my essay to you in an email if you want. Just let me know Thank you Nicole
  2. I hope you all get in...Good luck :)
  3. Hey, Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I have been out of the country for a month. It depends on the quarter. My 1st quarter was 4 days a week in class and the last week of the quarter was clinicals- 2nd quarter is 2 class days and 2 clinical days. The sites for first quarter were Emerald heights, Ballard and Lifecare (you don't get to chose your site it is based off your last name for the first 2 quarters) 3rd quarter we have clinicals sites at Overlake and Fairfax. I believe 5-6 quarter you get to chose your site. However, I am only beginning my second quarter and will update this blog as time goes on.
  4. Hello, Nice teas score! My advice to you is apply to as many schools as you can. LWTC is a great choice and it looks like you have great scores and a good GPA. Take your time with the admissions paper work and get everything proof read before turning it in. Good Luck, Nicole
  5. Hey, I didn't have any volunteer hours-just a lot of experience working in the medical field (maybe that was the reason that I didn't get into UW). Also, keep in mind microbiology you can take during the program at LWTC (you will need to just have it completed by 4th quarter). Some of my cohort will complete it during the summer. I also understand the feeling of starting over again (I have a BA and it is useless). Plus, believe it or not most of my cohort seems to be starting over. Some were teachers, EMT's, and Computer science people (Boeing). It's ok to start over because now I am doing something I really enjoy :) Good luck, Nicole
  6. Hello, I'm almost done with my 1st quarter ( I can't believe it). I applied to UW twice and was rejected both times. I decided to try LWTC and got in. I really love the program it has been a great experience so far. Also, we are officially accredited-YEAH! The teachers are great and really want you to succeed. I recommend applying to as many nursing programs because it really is competitive (it took me 2 1/2 years to finally get into a program). Also, keep in mind that you can do a bridge program from LWTC to UW Bothell for the BSN…. Plus, I believe LWTC is working on their own BSN program. Hopefully, before I graduate :). If you have any more questions let me know! Good luck Nicole
  7. I have been accepted into the 2016 spring quarter nursing Lake Washington Technical program. I want to write about how I got into the program to inform future students. At first, I wasn't going to apply because my Teas test wasn't great (Average 70). I have a GPA of 3.8, 8 years working in the mental health field, and I have a BA in Psychology. I guess even with not such a competitive Teas score I was accepted. I hope this information helps other students. Good Luck. Feel free to reach out. Nicole
