At my current employer my supervisor will take it upon herself to delegate certain employees to remind the other employees about team recognition by giving credit where credit is due, additional on the job cross-training classes for advancement in field and the benefits of patient satisfaction and how its effects our annual pay raises. What are ways at your facility that your manager empowers your team? Do you feel that the empowerment contributes to the team? One of our mottos is to go above and beyond. I feel that it does motivate the team, but can get dragged out at times.

That's what gets me. This is a new program, the first class graduated this May. Last semester the program accepted students that made lower than what I have with not type of experience and were still accepted.

Should I apply to an RN program if: -withhold a BS degree -made just below the entrance exam score for nursing -completed all prerequisites for nursing program -works/worked in healthcare field for several years -has 3 letters of recommendation from LPN instructor, LPN coordinator, and supervisor -started the LPN but was not able to finish the last 2 semesters The school accepts their students based on a point system. As of 4/13/2016 they have only received 33 applications. The program will only accept 40. Applications are due 4/18/16 at 4pm. I completed the whole application just notnsirenif I should turn it in or not. This school is was my first choice if accepted. I have also applied at several other schools for a back up plan

True. But it sets a foundation for those that don't actually experience it.

Yes. In class today I expressed how my manager motivates us by having morning meetings with a quick exercise. She also sets goals on your unit and provides us with incentives such as movie tickets, incentive pay, or caught in the act (and internal system we use at work to acknowledge employees that go above and beyond). I work on a demanding floor at my facility! My manager rocks. If I could get various stories from others to add to my discussion that would be great! All managers and staff work differently and have various ways of motivation. I recently watched Nurse Jackie for the first time & I could point out quite a few points from there...along with other tv shows.

Describe a situation you have experienced where motivation has positively influenced an employee's performance. What did you use or do to motivate your employees?

Thank you! This school is graduating there 1st RN class this Spring.

Thank you all. Another thing is that the college deducts points if you retake any course, but the encourage you to repeat classes if you have to. I feel that it's a contradiction.

Is it possible to be accepted into and ADN program with a 2.53 GPA in prerequisites? Overall my GPA is 3.0. I currently hold a BS in Psyc, started an LPN program but didn't finish my last semester because I couldn't pass the Advance Pharm. I also been working part time as a CNA for years. The required prerequisite GPA is 2.8. An overall minimum of 2.0. A TEAS score of 62 or higher. And it's stated that prior work in the health field helps.
