  1. I am in a dilemma and was hoping to hear some opinions. I just graduated with my BSN and received my RN license. I did some job searching and after networking with someone at hospital A, I was given an interview on a Monday. After scheduling this interview, I was called by hospital B for an interview on Tuesday. Hospital A was looking for a night shift nurse and Hospital B was looking for day shift. Hospital A wanted to schedule another interview and said it would follow up in a week or so. Hospital B called me the day after (Wednesday) with a job offer. I spent the day thinking about it and after deciding since it was closer and I had still not received a call back from Hospital A, that I would accept the position. I have not signed anything yet. Five days after my initial interview with Hospital A, they call me in for a second one. This interview is on Monday. Although this does not guarantee a job, I am questioning accepting the other job so quickly. The only thing that is making me waver is when a friend of mine mentioned differential for night shift. Am I crazy for this? I accepted the second interview, which is a Monday, which is also the day the HR person in charge of my hiring comes back from vacation. Thoughts???
  2. Kinda late to jump into this conversation but I wanted opinions. I originally started using Virtual ATI but after finishing the course and receiving an 84% chance of passing NCLEX, I felt discouraged and bought UWorld. I didn't want to move my date anymore (it is in a week's time) so I technically have only been using Uworld for about a week. I have 1448 questions left but am really focusing on the rationales. I took the first self assessment and received the 44th percentile and a "high" chance of passing (not "very high"). I'm still planning on continuing with the questions and rationales, but I am terrified that I am not ready to pass.
  3. I'm taking my NCLEX in week. I feel so anxious. I had been using ATI and then I realized I was spending more time reading content that answering questions. So last minute, I switched to UWorld. I had already pushed my date back so I decided to keep my date, even though it only left with me with 2 weeks to finish Uworld. I don't think i will finish Uworld but it is similar to the NCLEX mastery app. If you can, buy the two tests that come from the nclex mastery app. Uworld also comes with two "predictor" exams.
  4. CONGRATS! I had started using ATI but my subscription ended before I got the greenlight and was getting discouraged so I just bought UWorld. Hopefully it helps me too. If I finish the questions early, I may push up my date
  5. Good luck! Keep us posted! I just started using Uworld so hopefully it helps out!
  6. So I graduated in early May and have been studying for the NCLEX since then. I bought the Virtual ATI and just took my predictor. It gave me a score of 82%. My subscription ends in 6 days and because of the time left, I do not qualify for the other two predictors offered by ATI unless I pay another $75. Even so, I have not felt 100% confident with ATI. I ended up buying the NCLEX Mastery App and UWorld. In addition, I took the NCLEX Mastery predictor exams and scored both a 90% and an 80%. I am considering just going through with UWorld and NCLEX Mastery. I also bought LaCharity's Delegation, Prioritizations and Assignment. Any thoughts of what I can do? UWorld has two predictors but I think I will hold off on those until I finish UWorld. Any other tips or thoughts on this?? It just gets discouraging because I have spent so many hours studying and remediating and this is as far as I have gotten. Thank you for your time.
  7. Hi all, So for a while now, I was a bit all over the place with knowing what field I wanted to work in. (I am currently a senior nursing student). I have always loved wounds and worked in an outpatient wound clinic. When I had my ICU rotation, I loved it, but didn't want to leave my wounds. While learning material for burns for an exam, I researched more and really realized that burn nursing is something that I want to pursue. What track did you take coming out of nursing school to get to the position of a burn nurse? Is there a certain floor you think would give you the right amount of exposure and experience before working at a burn center? If you have any certifications that you believe are helpful as well, what are they? Thanks in advance!
  8. I'm a junior 2 nursing student and from what I have been told, we only have to pass the NCLEX to become registered. However, I read on another article that talked about boards needing to be passed after graduating. Is there a difference between boards and the NCLEX or is it just the same term? Thanks!
