So I am currently torn between two jobs. I just graduated with my BSN in May of 2015. In October I was hire as a labor & delivery nurse. I always thought that was what I wanted to do. Turns out that after 12 weeks of orientation I'm not sure that I like it. I still find it interesting, but I don't know if I can do this for years. I started applying to other job and was offered a staff nurse position at a nursing home. I never thought I would work in long term care, and now I'm very confused. The nursing home will give me a more set schedule and $3 more per hour. It is also 30 minutes closer to my house. They are offering $1000 sign on bonus and tuition reimbursement. I would be working 3p-11p (my desired shift). In L+D I work day/night rotating shifts. Please tell me what to do. I am so torn. I don't know if I could handle being the only RN on a floor of 60 patients in the nursing home, but I also don't like how critical L+D can be. I need some advice. Please.
