  1. I graduated with my BSN in May of 2015. I have 10 months of clinical experience (4 months in L&D and 6 months in LTC). I have recently become ill with an un-diagnosed autoimmune disorder. I am currently having testing done to rule out lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. I have been having swelling, burning, and extreme pain in both of my feet. I am unable to walk more than a few feet without being in excruciating pain. Does anyone have any knowledge about work from home nursing careers? What companies are reputable? I don't want to completely give up on nursing. I want to stay in the medical field. Thank you for any information you can provide.
  2. I graduated about a year ago with my BSN and October 2016 will be my one year experience mark. I worked in labor and delivery for 4 months and then got a job at a LTC facility. I don't know if nursing is right for me. I didn't realize how different 'real life nursing' was from what we were told while in school. I love the medical field and find everything health related very interesting, but I don't like actually providing care and giving meds to patients. I'm thinking I made the wrong choice by going into nursing. I like clerical work and organization. I excelled in school; I was always on the Dean's list. I like the learning aspect and I loved taking notes and studying while in school. Does anyone have any ideas for jobs I can look into? Salary does play a role, but ultimately I want to find a job that I love and that I enjoy doing. Please help! Any and all suggestions are welcome!
  3. So I am currently torn between two jobs. I just graduated with my BSN in May of 2015. In October I was hire as a labor & delivery nurse. I always thought that was what I wanted to do. Turns out that after 12 weeks of orientation I'm not sure that I like it. I still find it interesting, but I don't know if I can do this for years. I started applying to other job and was offered a staff nurse position at a nursing home. I never thought I would work in long term care, and now I'm very confused. The nursing home will give me a more set schedule and $3 more per hour. It is also 30 minutes closer to my house. They are offering $1000 sign on bonus and tuition reimbursement. I would be working 3p-11p (my desired shift). In L+D I work day/night rotating shifts. Please tell me what to do. I am so torn. I don't know if I could handle being the only RN on a floor of 60 patients in the nursing home, but I also don't like how critical L+D can be. I need some advice. Please.
