  1. Hey there! Yes! I have been accepted!! It made my day I was so excited to read it... ahhh! How about you? I hope you hear soon!
  2. Hey! It went well... It's hard to say. I interviewed with 3 other people and they were all really great applicants so I was a little intimidated- I felt the panel was hard to read. I couldn't tell if they liked all of us or disliked us- it was overall tough to interpret. How about you? I hope it was good! How did you feel about the male interviewer?
  3. I'm interviewing on the 30th. What is your background like? Are you a RN now? I have my bachelors in history and work for a medical company and mission hospital now.
  4. Hey there!! So glad to find someone who's also applying to the program. Yes I took the TEAS and got an 80. Not my best, but I'm hoping it's going to be okay. Are you interviewing again this year? I just got my letter to schedule mine. What sort of things did they ask you last year? Best of luck! Honestly I've heard many people who didn't get in to reapply- that way they know you're serious.
  5. Hi guys! I have read so many submissions on Allnurses that have helped me immensely and I thought it might be time to reach out to the community I admire so much. I am applying to an accelerated BSN program here in Asheville, NC. I have been working on my pre-requisites while working full time at a home medical company. My application date is approaching and I take my TEAS exam a week from today (!!) I am finding that I am becoming anxious and worrying about the results of my TEAS, whether or not my application is good enough, and what I will do if I don't get into the program. Does anyone have any techniques for relaxing and handling anxiety? Also, I am wondering if I am writing the correct things for my cover letter. Since it's an accelerated program, I want to find the right balance of personality but maintain a professional and mature voice in the letter. What sort of things do you include in a cover letter? I have a statement of purpose, how I found my interest in nursing, and how I came to understand the role of a hospital nurse (this was hinted at in the application). Any suggestions? I was told a "Competitive" TEAS score is 87. Has anyone scored lower and gotten into a program? I am taking my practice test tomorrow so I should have a better idea of what I can score, but I've been practicing in the ATI book so I am a little familiar with the format. I think I am worried that my TEAS score isn't my strongest part to bring to the program. Although I know I can't have a perfect application, I still am concerned. The breakdown of the program is: Cumulative GPA (50%) - Mine is currently a 3.6 TEAS score (25%) Resume/Cover Letter (10%) Interview (15%) Also, many people have told me that I need to "Stop analyzing" and "Relax" and "Not worry" but this is something I take very seriously, so it's not as easy as it sounds. Ok, rant over. So glad this community exists. SO grateful for any responses!
