I have 30 years experience in another field. How is looked upon when applying for nursing school. I have been in teaching. I plan to do two additional years so that I can hopefully, take the pre-requisites in night school and then, leave to take the remaining classes if I need any, take the required test and then, apply. Although I live in an area that has 3 nursing programs within an hour's drive I am hopeful, that I get into UTA with the online program. Besides having a Bachelors I also have a Masters in a different field. I wonder how they will look at that. During the time that I will be in nursing school I will have a minimal income so I hope that I do not need to apply for financial assistance. I do not recall having filled out the FAFSA on my first run in school. I never have received financial aide except for scholarships for being on Dean's List. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
