UB Essay Question Feedback?
Hi all! I am applying to the University at Buffalo's Traditional BSN Nursing Program. When applying we are asked to submit essays of 250 words or less that answer the following amazing question: What unique skills and talents do you possess that will contribute to the UB School of Nursing and the future of the nursing profession? I have a passion for the English language, which is why I am currently pursuing both an English degree and a nursing degree. I take great pride in my verbal and written English skill because I think that being well spoken and well written is very important to any field of work. It is because of this passion that many of my friends and family ask me to read their written works, such as essays, resumes, and personal statements. I enjoy teaching and it is a skill that I have acquired through many years of teaching and being a student. I have spent many years swimming competitively under the instruction of many coaches and have begun teaching within the last few years. I enjoy finding ways to make educating my swim students enjoyable and rewarding. Coaching has taught me to be confident when approaching situations with my swimmers and with their parents. It has taught me to be positive and motivational so that I can motivate my swimmers to work hard. At Cavalry Country Club Pool, my Management and Head Coach positions have both taught me and built upon my skills and talents. My Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and CPR certifications, my training with Naloxone and Epi-Pen's, and my critical thinking skills are called upon frequently at the pool when accidents arise. My action planning, risk management, organization, and communication skills are also frequently being used and being built upon every day at work. I was wondering if anyone could help by reading my answers and providing feedback. I'm worried that I'm going to sound cheesy and am really hoping to make my answers stand out. I will update as I write/complete my answers! Thank you so much to anyone that reads/answers.

UB Nursing Essay Question
Hi all! I am applying to the University at Buffalo's Traditional BSN Nursing Program. When applying we are asked to submit essays of 250 words or less that answer the following amazing question: Reflect on a time when your personal integrity was challenged and describe how your core values framed your response. My integrity is challenged everyday simply by being a college student. Every day I am confronted with under-age drinking, illegal drug use, and cheating in the classroom. Last year one of my good friends and I were taking the same class with different professors and the deadline for our final essay was quickly approaching. I had spent the last few weeks in the library writing my essay. My friend approached me and asked if she could use my essay, explaining that one of her relatives had fallen ill and she wasn't finished with her essay. My strong moral compass told me that letting her use my essay did not line up with my core values. However, they did help me to be compassionate and to help her write her essay. I spent the next few days helping her research and write her essay so that she could complete it by the deadline. My core values ensure that I always hold myself accountable for my actions, whether or not I am the only one who sees or knows of them, that I am accepting, and that I am compassionate. . It was because of my values that I wanted to help my friend finish her essay. It is also because of my values that I make sure that I am honest and true to myself in everything that I do. That every action I make, every grade I receive, every essay I write, is a true reflection of who I am I was wondering if anyone could help by reading my answers and providing feedback. I'm worried that I'm going to sound cheesy and am really hoping to make my answers stand out. I will update as I write/complete my answers! Thank you so much to anyone that reads/answers.

UB Nursing Admission Essay!
Hi all! I am applying to the University at Buffalo's Traditional BSN Nursing Program. When applying we are asked to submit essays of 250 words or less that answer the following amazing questions: 1. What is your understanding of the role of a professional nurse? The role of a nurse is hard to define, it's vast, fluid, and ever evolving. It changes with every patient, every family, and every new case. Their role is all encompassing, they provide beginning of life care and end of life care that includes anything from putting on Band-Aids, to emergency response care. Nurses care for individuals, families, and communities. The role of a nurse is to work both collaboratively and independently to educate, prevent illness, promote health, and achieve optimal recovery for their patients. Nurses are able to do this by being adaptable and through taking on numerous roles in their profession. Nurses are passionate caregivers that take care of others no matter what the circumstances. They are helpful teachers who help their patients learn about their health and their care. They are counselors who help their patient to cope with psychological and physical problems. Nurses are effective leaders who guide others to work together to accomplish a common goal. They are intelligent researchers who use research to keep their knowledge sharp and to improve patient care. The incredible nurses that I have shadowed have shown me the compassion and dedication that the role of a nurse demands. I have watched nurses they go above and beyond for every one of their patients by both caring more and do more for their patients than expected of them. Their capacity for kindness is limitless. 2. What experiences have shaped you as a person and will influence the future nurse you want to be? I was wondering if anyone could help by reading my answers and providing feedback I'm worried that I'm going to sound cheesy and am really looking to stand out. I will update as I write/complete my answers! Thank you so much to anyone that reads/answers.
