depends on the state you work at. I am currently a new grad RN and finished signing papers, but I remember reading somewhere that OT only applies to ONE WEEK. This is the state of California, but I am sure it applies nationally possibly? So if you worked 72 hours, IMO should be 32 hours of OT pay.

I believe in my state of California, CNS operates as APRN since it requires basically the same education.

I am a new grad RN, but I like to plan my future accordingly and have goals. One field that is very interesting is CNS. I've googled around but haven't found any resourceful websites to really explain what they do. I've only become interested because my 2nd interview was with a CNS at a hospital. Anyone mind explaining their position and expectations?

Hey! I completed ATI exit exam with 78%. Completed VATI (honestly just skimmed through to for school incentive of $1000) I only used UWORLD as my study source. Did ~700 questions, 75/day. Avg score %65 percent ranked upper 88 percentile. In my opinion, UWORLD is much harder than NCLEX. If you are doing well in UWORLD, I am confident you will do well (even though you will walk out thinking you did horrible as I did answering only 75 questions)

I agree with the quote. It is great that many nurses here are advocating for your determination to become a nurse. Keep in mind, those that are "discouraging" you are not trying to stop you. They are protecting the patients that you may handle. Failing a competency test makes me worry a lot for patients under your care regardless of how much compassion you show them. Though I don't discourage you to stop trying, I do worry. Like many others have explained, I used UWORLD and passed with 75 questions. I believe the difficulty of UWORLD is much higher than the NCLEX.

Thanks! That's good to hear that was the correct popup. I've been checking several times a day since I took it. Still waiting on official results.

I live in California, so quick results are not available. I also read a few CA people get their results within 72 hours from time of completion searching their name through Breeze. Completed NCLEX-RN in 75 questions. ~25 SATA, 1 med math, rest MC with few organize in order. I am worried because I felt that I didn't do "well" enough for 75 questions but also not "bad" enough to end at 75. Also NCLEX magically knew I was a male and hammered me with a lot of OB questions . Waited 24 hours, used a d/c credit card. Got a popup /!\ Our records... I am hoping this was the good popup? If it is indeed a good popup and that I passed, for those wondering how I studied. I only used UWORLD as my study source.
