  1. Hello! Congrats on almost being finished with nursing school. I started on med/surg and had two years of experience before switching to the ER. I think it personally was a good decision as I knew many disease processes, meds, and had time management down prior to entering the chaos and was able to hit the ground running. However, most of my colleagues started in the ER as new grads and had no trouble. I think it is preference and based off of your own learning needs whether you start in the ER or on another unit. Good luck with whatever you decide!
  2. My hospital uses ASAP, we used meditech prior. At first ASAP was overwhelming. We have been using it for over a year now and I have to say I am a converter and LOVE it. Once you learn it I hope it will be more of a help to you than a hindrance. Good luck!
