  1. I'm in the same boat. I applied at the end of the first week and haven't heard anything yet. I was told it was a rolling admission so was hoping to hear sooner rather than later, but am probably in that in-between category where they're waiting to see what other apps come in. It seems like if you're a solid yes or a solid no, some people have heard already? My prereq's for other programs are starting to expire, and I need to figure out whether I should take a couple more classes for those other programs...
  2. I haven't heard anything yet. I applied at the end of the first week that the application cycle was open.
  3. Anybody been scheduled for an interview yet? When I called for information a few months ago they said that the application was rolling, but when I applied it said Feb 1st applications are due and then April for interviews. Applied November 13th. Best of luck to everybody.
  4. Just to corroborate what others have said, I reached out to the program as well and they told me that they would be notifying of interviews at the end of November and interviews will take place virtually on December 6-7.
  5. Anybody hear anything yet? Shouldn't be too much longer based on previous years.
  6. I did have an issue similar to this a couple of weeks ago. I had to basically start my application over again and pull over information from my previous application. A day later after signing in again the problem seemed to have fixed itself. Not sure what was up.
  7. I'm in the same boat, applying a little later because I needed to retake a few science courses this Summer that had "expired" (taken more than ten years ago). I am a little nervous about asking for references, as I've done quite a bit of traveling the last couple years and haven't been as stable at one hospital. Can anyone chime in on the reference process? I know they use the likert scale for references, but is part of this an actual letter of recommendation? Traditional letters are a little more burdensome on references (remember that from the military), so was hoping to avoid that but I'll jump through almost any hoops at this point. From my understanding the first year is a little more flexible with most didactic coursework online with the exception of the week-long "RISE" sessions.
  8. I'm very curious about the Kira assessment as well. I have not applied in the past. I'm from Arizona, and really only interested in attending the University of Arizona for CRNA school so figured I would apply again next year if I don't make the cut this year. Have you applied previously?
  9. Hey all- applying for this application cycle as well. Looking forward to it! Big question mark on how competitive my application will be this time around, but I suppose we will all know soon enough.
  10. That actually was one nice aspect of the Kaplan - there didn't seem to be many "trick" questions where they were deliberately trying to get you to pick a wrong answer. What I was getting at was more of what I had read in another thread on here about the Kaplan - lots of questions asking where a given paragraph would best fit in the passage, which sentence could be removed from the passage, etc. A lot of those types of questions felt a little bit subjective. Its probably just more that at this stage we should know how to read and write, but I haven't been tested on the conceptual aspects of writing in a long time! Identifying different types of verbs, participles, gerunds, and nouns took some re-learning, but definitely not earth-shattering stuff. Good luck on the test!
  11. Hey kelts118, I didn't take the TEAS, but I didn't think the Kaplan was all that bad. The book (as a lot of people suggest on here) doesn't prepare you very well for the exam. The exam isn't that tough as far as standardized tests go though, in my opinion. Math had very basic questions (lots of fractions and percentages), reading comprehension is about what you'd expect and similar to the study book (but easier passages in my experience), writing was a little bit tricky, and science felt a bit like a lottery since they can ask you a variety of things within each of the 10 sub-categories they give you. Of all the places I looked, oddly enough Quizlet had some decent stuff for the writing section: https://quizlet.com/87346242/kaplan-nursing-entrance-writing-portion-know-how-to-identify-these-for-retake-no-spelling-on-test-grammar-only-flash-cards/ In addition to that, brush up on Anatomy and Physiology and you should be fine!
  12. Yes, I believe so. The accelerated program at NAU is only offered at the Flagstaff Mountain campus as far as I know. Summer, Fall, and Spring 3-semester program, beginning in Summer 2016.
  13. Hi all - I didn't see a thread for this program for the upcoming summer 2016 start date, so I thought I would start one. Please let me know if there is already a thread on this and I will have this deleted. Who else is applying? I know last year was very competitive, so I doubt this year will be any different. I just took the Kaplan Admissions Exam and have finished all my prerequisite coursework, so I'm hoping for the best. Good luck to everyone!
