  1. So I went to speak to the advisors today to ask questions. She said 19 LPNs applied and all 19 got into the program. She said it was a different story for the ones applying into the program who were not doing the bridge program who aren't LPNs. So that's good news!!! She also said that the average Kaplan score was 78 for this year applicants at Gwinnett Tech. Another good piece of news!!
  2. No. I have taken the Hesi and TEAS. Of course, my luck, we have to take the Kaplan. Worries me because science and grammer/vocab is on there. The other bridge programs only require reading and math.
  3. I am trying for 2017 bridge program too!
  4. That really gets to me! Ugh! We are nurses and it was a lot of hard work getting licensed. I don't mean to be rude but the ones I have come in contact with that come out of the 4 yr programs, are not very hands on, nor critical thinkers. We get a lot more of hands on experience in LPN school. I am in school right now for my RN and I will never underestimate the LPN's I will work with in the future.
  5. I meant "ktwlpn"...was the test hard?
  6. Was the test hard? I plan to take the certification test soon
  7. I guess it would depend on what area you want to get certified in. I am a hospice nurse and I will get my hospice certification soon.
  8. I went to Lanier Tech for my LPN. I loved their program. It was super intense but all nursing programs should be. It was not easy and I had to study hard. It was nice to have the other students for support. Once you finish, don't ever let anyone make you feel like you are not as good as an RN. Half the time I know more than the BSN students that walk up in here. Learning drug names (brand and generic) will come within time. I studied and memorized them in school. But it was not until I was actually a LPN that it started to come easily to me. Don't get distraught if you usually are a straight A student and can only make B's when you study a ton. know how to calculate right! We were required to not miss more than one question on our math calculation tests. Listen to the teacher and ask questions! Do not take anything personally if the teacher is very strict and professional. They are getting you ready for the real world and people's lives will be in your hand. Congrats on getting into the program!!
