The main books that we use are the Foundations book and the Anatomy & Physiology book. For every chapter in both books, there is an open-book quiz that she posts which is your homework. So there are usually 3 of those per week. They are pretty time-consuming (takes about 1-2 hours to complete). Also we have about 2-3 tests per week. So for example, in a typical week you would have to do the open book quizzes for a chapter in both foundations and A&P but you probably have 2 other tests that week that you have to study for as well. So it takes a lot of time. You won't have papers until you start clinicals. We didn't start clinicals until about 6 weeks into the program because we had to learn CNA skills first. Once you do clinicals, you'll have to write a paper for each day. I"m not saying you can't work because people do work but it's tough and a few people have either quit their jobs or either cut their hours a lot.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give some information since I remember how it was when I was starting and wanted as much info as I can get. I'm currently in the LPN program at Orlando Tech. I started in September so I'm 3 months in. My class graduates in October. We started with 19 people (I think) and we've already lost 5 people. 2 were due to grades, 2 we don't actually know why. They just never came back. And one got pregnant and it was just too much for her. I won't sugarcoat anything. It's tough. We have tons of work, things to study for, etc. You will eat, sleep breath school. Of the 14 of us only 5 have jobs and of those 5, only 2 work more than 3 days a week. I would not recommend working but I understand if you have to. just know it will be tough. But you can do it. If you have specific questions I will answer them. Just let me know.
