CCP Nursing 2016 HELP
And that's my plan. I have some college credits from right out of high school that fulfill some of the program requirements, so all I need are my sciences and Nutrition. I'm just scared of doing all those requirements and then not getting into the program. My GPA is 3.5 but I'm hoping a couple A's will bring it up

Starting to doubt myself, does my plan sound reasonable?
Almost every single hospital is BSN required. Unfortunately, we can't afford for me to not work for three years while I get my BSN.

Starting to doubt myself, does my plan sound reasonable?
I plan to begin my pre-req's in a few weeks and have spent a lot of time talking to nurses, nurse recruiters, and reading these boards. My original plan was to attend my local community college and get my ADN, work part time while I get my BSN. I'm reading a lot about how difficult the job market is here for new grads and I feel discouraged. I have no problem taking a "less desirable" job in a nursing home or other non-hospital setting. I guess my question is: is it possible to get into a hospital after starting my nursing career OOH? Should I just forgo the ADN and try to go straight for the BSN?

What classes did you take with A&P?
I will be taking A&P alone but I have three young children at home and have my doula business and haven't been in school in about 8 years.

To old for nursing school?
I'm 34 years old and am just now taking my science pre-requisites, hoping to apply (and get accepted!) to nursing school beginning in 2017. I'll be 38-39 when I graduate. My goal is to get my BSN and by then I'll probably be around 42. Even in your 40's you still have a solid 20+ years of working ahead of you. So no, you're not too old. Go for it! It sounds like you're life experience will serve you well, both in the profession of nursing and as you complete your schooling despite the naysayers. I'm sorry you don't have more support.

CCP Nursing 2016 HELP
I was told by a counselor that you HAVE TO have all your other classes done before you start Nursing 1. Which didn't make any sense to me, since those classes are described as co-requesites, meaning that you have the option of taking them along with nursing 1. Either way, I'm hoping to get into the nursing program for 2017 and plan to take all those courses before Nursing 1 anyway
