  1. Does she have any nutritional deficits or fluid intake? Could she be at risk for falls. Does she take any pain medication?
  2. I do have a 3.0 cumulative gpa. I also already got into my choice school on the first try, I scored decent on the NLN and I have an A in Micro. My school has a min of 2.5 gpa. All my core classes are completed. I never said i didn't need to know anatomy and physiology. I said that other previous students said they bascially reteach you what you nees to know. Also anatomy 1 and 2 nor micro was a pre req until the last two years. Actually only anatomy 1 is a pre req to get into the program now. I was asking if i wouldn't succeed as many of these post say you will not. As i said earlier I changed a lot around in my schedule. During ap1 I was working 2 jobs, i also had two children to take care of, for ap2 I was working 1 full time job and had just had a new baby. Once i rearranged my work schedule for micro I did a lot better. I'm not making excuses I am saying... I learned from the mistakes i made in anatomy and made adjustments to do better in otherclasses. I am okay with having to work harder than my peers to succeed. I knew there would be at least one non encouraging person. =/
  3. I heard first semester was alot of aide work! Is that true? My charge nurse suggested that I get a review book! I think I'm going to this weekend! I've got my planner!! Lol I'm not a huge planner user but I've heard that it gets pretty hectic so I'm trying to get into the habit of that! Thats awesome! I've been in a huge panic all summer hahaha i am so nervous. I got in with a friend, but we are at different clinical sites. What clinical site did you go to, if you dont mind me asking. And how was that??
  4. I have three little ones, working full time on a modified schedule, and starting the nursing program the 21st as well! We will be fine!! It may take a little more out of us but we got this!
  5. I have the raspberry with smoke bell and i love it! Good luck!! I'm starting nursing classes this fall as well!
  6. Thanks!! How was your first semester? Any tips?? Anything i should study up on before the summer is over? What all did you need? I'm so nervous! I've heard mixed reviews on their nursing program
  7. As odd as it may seem, i wasn't super paranoid about it until i got on this site! Lol I knew that if i didnt get in st my choice school that I could have easily gotten into 3 other programs even with my C's. But reading that you won't be successful with a C is stressful! I'm so happy so many different people are giving me hope! I know i can do the work and my life circumstances hsve changed drastically... so ill be working even harder to maintain! Thank you
  8. I have heard C's get degrees from many many people I completely understand what you're saying. Sometimes I let others freak me out too much. I know I'll (hopefully) excel in clinicals and with hands om things. I'm a visual, examples type person. If i cam see it and do it i cam learn it. I do plan to do pretty good in nursing school because i do eventually want to move om to my masters! Thank you =)
  9. Thank you! I feel so much relief!
  10. Thank you!! I feel so much better about it now! I'm finally okay and more hopeful than i was reading some of the other posts. I was feeling a tad bit defeated before I even started. I have no doubt it'll be overwhelming at first adjusting all 3 kids to my schedule with work and class. Its a challenge trying to fit all that in and pull out great grades. I know its been done so I'm not making excuses. I know I'll be okay, its just a worry some times.
  11. I think maybe why they said that is because up until recently (the last two years) both a&p weren't required to start the program and currently only ap1 is a pre req. Ap2 just has to be completed before either 2nd semester or second year, I honestly can't rememeber which since I had no intention on applying/starting until I finished all pre reqs and general req. Courses. So maybe they did go over some material since some students hadn't completed those courses. I am definitely motivated and have turned things around for the better! I think before I had too much on my plate during ap1 i was only taking two classes but i was working two part time jobs and I'm also a mother during ap2 I was working full time and had a new baby and had just went back to work so that was a major adjustment after 4 months off once I changed my work schedule to 3 12 hour shifts i had more time. I can't wait to get right in! =)
  12. Thank you so much for your encouragement! I currently work in long term care and have a lot of support from my charge nurses.
  13. Thank you for your encouragement
  14. I've gotten into the program, I start in August. I was more or less asking if it's really impossible to succeed in the program if you have recieved a C.
  15. Is it not possible to get through nursing school with C's in anatomy? I keep reading posts that say you won't make a good nursing student if you dont have an A in the anatomy courses or saying you won't get into a program. Is this true? I do personally have C's in both courses and did not think of retaking them simply because my program and others I would have applied to require a C average to get in. Since taking those courses I have adjusted my work schedule and changed my study habits. I have no doubt I'll have to work harder than my peers but is it really impossible? Most of the students that have went through this program that I have asked basically told me they reteach you. I am not saying I know nothing but ita been several years since i jave taken ap1 which is why i most likely didnt do as well as I had planned in ap2 as well as switching teachers. I did have a more difficult teacher for ap2 but she was awesome and really made you think. Since I have switched my work schedule and changed my study habits I did get an A in Micro and scored almost perfect on all my exams. I got 1 C on a quiz while i was studying for my pre entrance exam and that was the only C i recieved that semester. I plan on brushing up and refreshing the next 3 weeks before class starts... Just curious as to some opinions... I am a CNA and excelled during that class, all other courses I recieved an A or B. I am determined to make it through...
