  1. I can't wait for that!!!! I have an email from one of the case managers at the LSBN in the monitoring department stating that when I graduate....which is in Dec of 2016, this year....the director reviews my file and determines if I need further probation. I haven't been in any legal trouble whatsoever, so I'm hoping my review goes well when I graduate! I'm so ready for this stress to be over with!
  2. I would love to message but I have absolutely no idea how to! Please help! :)
  3. Would love to chat with you sometime about all this!
  4. No, not harsh at all! Just lookin for feedback! :) That was a very good point that you made. I am glad to still be in the program, regardless of the stress it may cause! Feels good to be doing well and getting through this process.
  5. I am nearing completion of 2/3 years of my monitoring contract. I was placed on a monitoring probation agreement by the Lousiana BON for past criminal charges. I began the monitoring when I started clinicals (08/14) and I'll be graduating in December of this year, 2016. I've been in complete compliance. I have checked in daily with FirstLab, submitted all documents on time, and all negative UDS. Have any of you ever heard of anyone getting off of their contract early? For instance, writing a letter and requesting to the BON that one be let off for compliance with their contract and stipulations. I am tempted to do so and would love some feedback. Would that be a bad idea? Should I get a professor or my work manager to write a letter on my behalf as well? I am not being monitored for addiction issues. However, I did post in this forum because I know you guys are very familiar with the monitoring process and the frequent drug screens, monthly fees, etc. If anyone has any familiarity with a situation similar to this, I would love to hear about it!
  6. Well, I've done everything I've been asked to do. When I am prescribed something "mood altering", the first thing I do is notify my BON.
  7. Hello, I am a senior nursing student being monitored by my board of nursing. I am nearly 2 years into my monitoring contract. I am subject to random screens, checking in with first lab, quarterly work evals, etc. I have been compliant with my board order. I have no missed check ins, no failed drug screens, I submit all forms and payments on time. For the last year I have been a CNA. I just got a new position at the same hospital as a senior student nurse extern. I have been approved by the board to start working. However, I received a document in the mail regarding prescription monitoring for 5 years. The previous 2 years, and the next 3 years. The document states that I have to get it signed in front of a notary. Is anyone familiar with this? I don't believe I am in any sort of trouble because I have done everything they have asked and I just spoke with the board of nursing on Wednesday 1/6/16. I assume the board just wants to be nosey and monitor my medications. Any feedback would be appreciated!
  8. Thank you! Finally someone replied!
  9. Hello! I am am posting because I would like feedback on my current situation. I am from Lousiana and currently working on my BSN. I will finish in 2 semesters, Fall of '16. Prior to enrolling in clinical nursing courses, I signed a consent order with my board of nursing. This entails that I refrain from criminal activity, use of drugs, etc. I have to check in with first lab daily. I am being monitored, but I am not in the recovery nurse program. However, I posted here because I know that many nurses in recovery are required to follow the same stipulations (check in, drug screens, evals, etc). I also am required to send quarterly work evals to the board as well. According to my consent order, I am to be monitored until I graduate and 1 year post graduation as an RN. However, I emailed my case manager and she stated to me as follows: "After you graduate, your file will be sent to our director and we will determine if you need further monitoring as an RN"-----I have been perfect thus far. I haven't even gotten so much as a speeding ticket. I pay my monthly probation fee on time. I have not missed a check in. I have no positive or dilute urine specimens. I also am employed at a hospital as a senior student nurse extern. I truly feel that working in the medical field while i am being monitored will really help my case. The reason I am posting is for feedback. Do any of you think it's possible that i will be released from monitoring after I graduate? The consent order said 3 years, but the case manager acts as if they will be the one to ultimately decide, being that she said my file will be reviewed when I graduate. I feel that as long as I continue to do what I am doing, I should be released and no longer have to be monitored. It truly is stressful and I can not wait to no longer have to worry about checking in and what not!
