I will be sharing my overall HESI A2 Exam Experience from Mt.San Antonio College, Walnut, California. Before you can even take the HESI A2 Exam at Mt.SAC I would highly recommend taking all your prerequisites first because the topics on the HESI may entail what you have learned. At Mt.SAC you can take the HESI again ONLY if you fall below the 71% pass rate. If you pass with anything higher that score is your permanent score. The way I studied for my HESI is by purchasing review book on Amazon A2 Hesi 2015. It has many different topics in the book that I didn't need because Mt.SAC only tests on the following: English/Grammer Basic Math Anatomy and Physiology(fairly basic) Reading Vocabulary The book was helpful but the questions are not really like the actual test. But it is still good practice. I struggle in Math so I was very much focused on that area. I did practice questions about 2 weeks before and because I procrastinated I went to a math tutor the day before my test to see if i could learn anything that would help. Surprisingly I did. She gave me tips on how not to make simple errors or how to decode word problems. On the HESI exam, the math I remember entailed percentages, ratios, proportions, basic multipication and division with decimals and simple stuff like that. the Anatomy and Physiology was very basic like what is the long bone that makes up your arm called? -Humerus. etc. Or know the difference between different parts of the bone like Diaphysis or Epiphysis. the reading was your basic reading comprehension test...What is the story trying to tell you. If you are a long test taker I would suggest doing this first it requires a lot of reading. The vocab...is more like understanding word or using it in the right context. Grammer has to do with correcting a sentence. It is super important to try to do your best on this exam because it gives you a large portion of your points for your application. Don't freak out if you didn't give yourself enough time to study. Just focus on your weaknesses and practice. GOOD LUCK AND STUDY HARD!
