  1. Welcome to GCC Nursing! I am in the program now. I understand your worries. It's definitely doable, but it's a real challenge to balance the school schedule with kiddos. Scheduling is a bit easier the first two semesters; the clinical days are shorter. The last two semesters are a bit harder with kiddos, as some of the clinicals can be up to 12 hours long and we typically have to be to the clinical site before 0700. Aside from those long days, we are out of most of our clinicals before 4pm. This is just an example based on my personal experience, the clinical schedule could be very different next semester, it depends on so many factors. My advice is that you go into orientation with an open mind and really do your best to listen to the professors suggestions about time management. They have seen it all and want you to succeed!
  2. I actually never got an email, but I did receive the congratulations letter after Thanksgiving! Guess we will both be in the Spring '16 class. :-) Did your packet have the itinerary for the meeting? Mine only had the attrition and uniform forms.
