  1. Hi everyone! I just thought I'd maybe start a thread for anyone who is going to be in the upcoming Winter 2016 semester at HFCC. I know I already have what is probably too many questions about the program like which exact classes we wear our scrubs to and what kind of program our etextbooks run on or if they'll run on a kindle and what comes in our lab nursing kits...I have a lot more, but I really just wanted to see how many in the winter 2016 class are on here because it's been my go to site for questions and I'm embarrassed to say that I'm on a first name basis with counselors at HFCC from asking so. many. questions. I'd love to talk to all of you and see where everyone is at! I really look forward to next semester with all of you!
  2. Hello! Does anyone in the nursing program at HFCC know what the required nursing kit consists of? I know it's for lab, but my dad and many other relatives are nurses with supplies pretty much stockpiled... I know $130.00 isn't crazy, but I'll feel terrible if it's filled with things I already have at my house...also I'm trying to save any money possible especially with this $720.65 ebook package... Also, has anyone bought the ebook package yet? I've heard it's interactive and it's a nice program and it covers all books for the two years besides the supplementary package we buy next semester...but does anyone have it? Is it just a collection of book codes? And can I run it on a Kindle? I'm assuming so, but some research on ebooks has made me a little worried if it's a highly interactive book and might not run. I really would rather just run it on my computer that I bought (thinking that I had my computer situation handled) but the battery crapped out, and I'm thinking it might be better to spend $50.00 on a little Kindle Fire that I can take back and forth to school easily as opposed to buying a battery and a computer case and then still running the risk of damaging it from taking it to and from school. If anyone from the Fall 2015 semester knows about how the ebooks work or if anyone from the Winter 2016 has already bought them, please share! I go to this site for all of my questions and I am truly on a first name basis with the counselors from asking so many questions. I'm so anxious to start after the handbook meeting! I look forward to hearing from and working alongside all of you in the next two years!!
