  1. Thanks everyone!! Anyone know anything about wilmington or charlotte pay?
  2. Thank you!! Do you happen to know the average base pay for new grads in raleigh for any of the hospitals? I can't find it on their websites!
  3. Thank you!! How early? I don't graduate till July so I'm trying to not get mixed in with the May graduates and end up getting pushed aside.
  4. New grad BSN graduating in July, interested in Wilmington, Raleigh, and Charlotte. I'm from MS and currently live in AL. I'm very familiar with NC but not the hospitals. Which ones are best for new grads in these locations based on pay, benefits, and turnover rate? I'm doing my practicum in MICU
  5. Oh ok! So did they tell you you've been accepted over the phone or did they say they'll let you know when it gets closer?
  6. I remember you said you have some summer classes, will you be finished with those before the program starts or did they say you'll start in spring instead?
  7. I haven't received my packet yet, but she said they would be mailed out. Should be soon!
  8. Yes I've been accepted! The accelerated program. Another girl from my area also got accepted and we'll be living together!
  9. Do you happen to be merideth Taylor on the coast in MS? Random I know but if you are, your name is so familiar because I know of a merideth Taylor who was friends with a lot of my friends in high school!
  10. Oh ok well keep us updated! Good luck on finals and everything! :)
  11. I'm accepted!! Anyone else hear anything? She called me today and I was not expecting that!
  12. That's awesome!! My friend called for me Monday morning and they said they were starting phone callsbin alphabetical order...what does your last name start with? I still haven't heard anything though. Every other year not everybody got interviews, some just letters in the mail but I need to know so I can move and everything lol. Good luck!!
  13. Oh I just found other people's posts from last year on another thread. Yeah I know! I'm not a local so I have to find and apartment and everything!
  14. Nope no emails or anything yet! I'm guessing very end of the month at the earliest since that's how it was last year. They haven't started going through applications apparently because I emailed their secretary Monday to add something to mine
  15. Haha trust me, I understand!! Well let me know if you hear anything from them soon and I'll do the same!
  16. That's a good pre-req GPA, which I'm sure they take into consideration more! Did you apply for both the traditional and accelerated?
  17. I have been searching and searching for someone else who applied..finally! I have a BS in Environmental Biology and Master of Public Health with an emphasis in Health Education…GPA 3.85. I am so eager to hear something I've been on pins and needles every time I get an email or phone call! What's your background and everything?
  18. They may not for the traditional program, but for the accelerated program they definitely do!
  19. Just curious if there is anyone else on here who has applied to the Fall 2016 Accelerated program? I know the time for interviews is coming up very soon!
  20. Yes I actually am living with my parents now. I have a B.S. In biology and a Masters of Public Health, so I am familiar with the healthcare world. I just graduated with my MPH but haven't had any luck finding a job even though I've applied all over the US. So I'm considering the accelerated nursing program but there isn't one close to home so no matter what I'd have to get an apartment or live on campus
  21. It's an accelerated BSN program for people who already have a bachelors degree and all the prereqs. It's 12 months. From what I've read most people don't work, but I will have to otherwise I'll have to just take out loans to live off of, which I really don't want to do.
  22. For the program I'm looking at, there's 28 hours first semester, 24 second and 12 the third. It's a 12 month program so very intense. They advise you not to work but I know I can't be the only one who doesn't have a choice but to work at least a little. I'd rather not get into debt up to my eyeballs.
  23. I'm thinking about beginning an accelerated program, but I would have to be working at the same time because I will not be living at home. Is it feasible to work while in nursing school, especially in an accelerated program? I was thinking about being a tech. But what's the difference between working as a tech in a hospital and being a CNA in a hospital? Because if it's worth it I would get my CNA cert/license. Any advice/insight appreciated! i should add that I'm single, not married so I would be providing only for myself!
