  1. Just wondering if you got your results!
  2. Don't quote me but I think the Kaplan money back guarantee isn't for the QBank, but if you do one of the courses. Anyway, I had both Kaplan QBank and UWorld QBank. I did all of UWorld and some of Kaplan (maybe around 600). Yes, UWorld hands down has the best rationales. They are MUCH more in depth. You get rationales for all choices. It's a very good content review in that way, as you really understand why an answer is correct and why the others aren't. With Kaplan, the rationales really aren't detailed at all. It's usually a short sentence for each choice, and some will have a rationale that says, essentially, "this is not correct". Also, with UWorld, you can break up the questions in many ways, including by subject and the client needs breakdown. So if I only want to do Maternity questions or Critical Care questions, I can do that. With Kaplan, it's only by the client needs breakdown. If you don't need to focus your questions in specific content subject areas, that may not be that big of a deal. So if I had to choose, I'd go with UWorld.
  3. Haha I know! Good luck! I ended up searching older threads and it seems like everyone that has gotten the good pop up has passed? I don't think I've found an instance where someone got the good pop up and failed. I thought it was harder than I expected, lots of SATA (didn't count, but over 20).
  4. So I just finished the NCLEX, and tried the trick about 20 mins after I finished the test, haha. I guess I got the good pop-up, right? "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." So just wondering if this is too soon? Has anyone tried it soon then it changed later? Haha these 2 days are going to be long!
  5. Thanks again, I checked out their site, looks good. I guess what was throwing me off was the idea of spending 1-2 months per ICU, and whether that was really enough time. But I'm guessing it works out if places like UoU place new grads in the ICU float pool.
  6. Thanks that definitely puts me at ease. Yeah I don't know if the program would start or if I'd be selected for it, but it's just something I heard. Do do you have any more details on that program? Like which ICUs were included, and how long would a new grad orient in each? Also how long was classroom orientation, if you know? Yeah I really want to start in ICU (I'd love to be on RRT/code team in a few years), and I heard this as one more option in my area for new grad ICU RNs, so I'm curious as to how this works elsewhere and how common it is. Thanks again, appreciate it!
  7. Bump! Would really appreciate any thoughts :)
  8. Has anyone ever heard of new graduate RNs being hired into ICU float pools? I've heard that there is some interest at a hospital I know of in starting a program for new grad RNs to be in the ICU float pool, and I'm wondering about anyone's thoughts on such a program. From what I understand, float pools are generally for an experienced nurse (at least 1 year) who wouldn't need that much of an orientation. I'm thinking that in creating a new grad float program you'd have to have at least the same length of an orientation as a new grad hired into a specific unit, if not longer. What do you think would be needed to help make such a program successful? Do you have such a program at your hospital? This program I think would include floating between MICU, SICU, CCU, and maybe Neuro ICU.
