  1. Due to your previous degree GPA,I think you should forget CRNA .
  2. I have a CRNA friend who works between 60 to 70 hours. But it is a slow rural practice.
  3. It always starts after 40 hours.I have seen many people working 60 hours just to get more bucks.
  4. Any other senior member like WTABCRNA who can tell me how much is reasonable for like 60 hour work.?It is because I think I can work those many hours.
  5. I could not get into American school because I came to USA one year ago when I was already a medical doctor. Why you could not get into that even if you are American citizen?lol
  6. How brilliant nurses areí ½í¸…í ½í¸…í ½í¸…
  7. Absolutely agreed. But why there is so much difference in salaries?
  8. I never meant to underestimate CRNA practice.I just said those words for the applicants of both CRNA and Anesthesia residency. That doctors have way more solid medical knowledge after medical school than nurses after BSN.
  9. Guys relax.I did not undermine CRNA.Anesthesia is my passion and even though I got good scores on USMLE that were in range for primary care residencies but not for Anesthesia. That is why I turned towards CRNA route.I am humble,I am hardworking and I know how to respect professions.I just said what I think.Again it is my personal opinion.Yes I am from foreign country. But in USA,every person deserves the fruit of hard work.Right? So that I am doing.
  10. For God sake Do not ever compare Anesthesiology residency with CRNA school. There is hell of difference in capabilities of applicants.
  11. I am in the 3rd semester of school. So far I have GPA of 3.94.In fact I think I am finding subjects easy as I already know almost everything due to my medical background. If you want to say that CRNA school will not accept me because of me being a doctor,That is another thing.
  12. Why I may not be admitted into CRNA school?Any particular reason?Even if I have great credentials?
  13. I have acceptable scores for primary care residencies but not for Anesthesiology. And Anesthesia is my passion. That's why I want to do CRNA.
  14. Yes.You are true.Current data is different.Like I was reading 2012 Merrit Hawkins Review that said CRNA salary surpassed Primary care physician salaries. BUT currently that's not true.Family physicians and pediatricians jobs start at 225k average while Crna starts at 160k .
  15. Thanks guys for clearing the issue.I am a foreign medical graduate trying to make my Anesthesiology career in USA.My USMLE scores are in the average range so that to be on safe side,I decided to pursue CRNA route.I will try my level best to be successful. Rest is on Higher powers.Thank you again.Appreciated
  16. I am a BSN student and aspire to be a CRNA. But now I am scared of the future ...
  17. Point is Future Jobs......Not the current situation
  18. I think it's true. Many CRNA schools pumping out students
  19. Thesre will be not much jobs and hence unemployment in 2022 onwards http://www.rand.org/pubs/research_briefs/2010/RAND_RB9541.pdf
  20. Thanks for clarification. I saw some listings on gaswork.com. That said Monday to Thursday 7 to 5 with call every 10th day. Some said Monday to Friday 7 to 3 with call very 7th day.I thought a CRNA can do a locum day at other facility on Friday night or Saturday.
  21. Does Average salaries posted by AANA include OT ?I heard many CRNAs working 60hours or 2 jobs. Why the Average salaries are not increased then?
  22. Yes.It is outside OR hours. But since mostly there is a day off after call, that means you work 40 hours still a week.Am I right?
  23. One more question. Is this call within 40 hours a week or outside of it?
