  1. Hello! I took statistics in 2008 and got an A. This satisfies the requirement for all of the BSN programs I'm applying for except one. They have a 5 year limit on stats. I decided to take it online this quarter. However, I'm also working as a CNA and have an internship. And, frankly, the class requires an insane amount of work. I don't know if I can pull off an A, so I'm thinking about dropping it. I wasn't that excited about the one school with this requirement anyway. I'm wondering what other students/nurses who have gone through this process think about having a W on your transcript right before applying. My prerequisite GPA is a 3.85, but my cumulative is much lower, around a 2.7, because of low performance from several years ago. I plan to include a letter explaining the low grades from before with my applications, and I have spoken to several admissions advisers who think a good explanation + my prereq GPA + my work/internship experience would make me a good candidate, despite the low cumulative GPA. Should I drop the class, or trudge through and possibly make a not-so-stellar grade?
