Yes just turned 26 and little freaked out but than I see so many girls my age or older without children and calms me down lol. Ppl my age are either married or out clubbing still so I don't feel that bad. But I will start trying for a baby late this year and whatever happens happens. I also will be planing on starting LPN this winter feel like I'm too old for school now but whatever at least I will get it done. I'm also very confused on what I want to do cuz I don't see myself being a nurse for years and years I want to eventually invest in businesses whole sailing real estate etc. but feel like in order to do that it would be a lot easier to have a good paying job with credit and able to get loans etc. but time will tell. Hope all works out for u I'm very stressed about the whole baby thing and getting my life together. My husband makes good decent money so that's why I'm not as worried about not Bing stable for a baby cuz I am but I would like something going for myself.

Lol why copy what I wrote? I wrote and said that you feed off drama and lack education from how you respond [emoji23] anyways maybe I will stay maybe I won't. And you sound like the type of annoying nosy coworker that everyone hate to work around. Lighten up be positive and don't judge ppl by what line they work in. At the end of the day you are taking care of patients with deferent backgrounds drug addicts, hookers, strippers, professionals, old, sick etc. I would hate for you to care for me as a patient

Thank you for your share of the story. Sorry to hear this. Yes I should have mentioned Hepatitis on my post as well. Anywho yes this is very scary and one of the reasons I don't want to work in this field. I just find it frustrating and sad to catch something at work for something you worked your ass off to get into. It's not all sun and roses in the medical field and there are so many other story's out there just like yours. One of who she was a mother and got hepatitis and was married with children and don't know what to do very sad:( all these posts I'm taking in to consideration of pursuing my nursing. I did finish my CMA and was exposed and know how scary that felt and I'm married and how I would not want to pass it to my husband if I did catch anything. But everything turned out just fine patient was healthy and I'm healthy thank god! Big learning experience.

And yes good question I have asked myself that as well, "why get into nursing if I don't envision being in this career for long" But for the short answer is having your RN is a respected career unlike dancing, it comes along with more benefits like insurance 401K, also I've thought about becoming a contract or traveling nurse if I do decide to finish my RN. That will give me enough time to do whatever I like to do on the side dance, house flip etc. I've already talked to ppl in the house flipping business and they do recommend to have a full time job and do this on the side meanwhile it establishes and grows successfully. So this might be what I will do. All I know is that this year is fully dedicated to making money and saving next year nursing.

Well good for you on you Nursing. And yes it is entirely true I was working around nurses not only at one job but plenty and they did the same exact thing as me but got paid more just cause they were RNs. I personally think it depends where u work if you will have a big role on patients maybe like critical care ok. But as far as the office jobs I've worked at and plenty others most nurses do the same exact thing as a CMA CNA depending where you work. As a CNA you pretty much are doing patient care that's why I assume a CNA wants to advance into RN is not only to play a bigger role " once agin depending where u work" but for the better benefits it comes with along with pay. And like I've said just cause I want what will benefit me in the long run does not mean I'm not fit for the medical field, I've stated my reasons already about why I want to be in nursing have been wanting to be one since I was 20 that's 5years now and also never minded patient interaction. Anywho thanks I as well hope to figure out what will benefit me better

Yes and no. I guess I make it harder on myself then what I should be:( well that's what I'm told from loved ones lol. But right now it is my student loan, I went to a technical college for my CMA so it wasn't cheap and the LPN I want to go to isn't cheap either. Where I plan to go for my nursing is only a bridge program for RN so I have to become an LPN. I've also read around for jobs that some employers require you to have your LPN and RN.

Any CMAs that went in for LPN program having a student debit already? [emoji30] well I just want to know if it's doable I'm still in debit for my CMA and really want to get my LPN than my RN. Anyone? I thought about paying off my student loan first but then I thought about another wasted year of not even being close to my dreams of becoming an RN. I'm also getting old lol turn 26 this year and been having the vision of becoming a nurse since I was 20. I think it's about to to just go for it. I also suffered from a fibroid this year and want to try to conceive asap. I can wait till early next year to try for a baby but I really feel that this is it for me. I don't want to risk regrowth so I'm really trying to get this whole nursing out the way. I wouldn't mind having a baby before I start my RN:)

Wow didn't know that information! Thanks for sharing. I just remember the stress I went through to feel like I'm all clear and that took couple of months for me to feel better. It wasn't a needle stuck but blood sprayed when I did a protime test on the finger. But very scary experience! I have read horror stories of nurses not even sure where they got HIV from and the best clue I would have is on the job for sure one way or the other. I have also read of nurses and nursing students getting HIV from exposure. I personally don't think it can't happen cause I'm sure it can even though it's a low percent.

So sorry to hear this how frightening! May god be with you. How did your labs turn out? I also had an exposure couple years ago as a CMA thank god nothing serious just blood sprayed and almost got into my eyes or might have. Point is patient wasn't HIV positive on the bright side, and I turned out fine. I remember having to go back 6months later to know the real deal on the results cause catching HIV I Gus's don't show up right away. I also go tested on the 8th week I believe and 3mos than 6mos.

Ok so I had a scare couple years ago as a CMA was exposed to blood but didn't get into my eyes luckily plus the patient wasn't HIV positive, but that what if still ran through my head a lot of ppl don't get tested for HIV. Anywho just curious to hear any stories from nurses or nursing students that caught HIV on the job? God bless you and hope to hear your stories. It's a scary thing that's always in the back of my head and the biggest fear I have in becoming a nurse.

Hi sorry to ask but do you think you got if from nursing? That's my biggest fear and maybe this is one of the reasons I yet haven't admitted to myself on why I keep postponing nursing school. I went in for CMA and got exposed to blood I got a big scare out of me lol... Anyways God bless

Hi everyone so the thing with me is that I'm ADHD I got on meds when I was a teen and made me feel like a zombie so I laid of of them. I have not been on any medications since than and don't plan on it. I want to go the natural way even though some days I do have my panic attacks but they have gotten so much better since I eat healthier and exercise everyday. I do assume I'm a bit bipolar not anything extremely but I do catch myself having high energy than low and mood swings, nothing extremely so don't know if that's normal cause I have been like this all my life. Anywho I went to school for CMA landed several jobs and the least I could say is I came across two jobs with crappy management so I quit both. I had one good job experience as a CMA but had to quit to find a job closer to home and that's when I came across drama unprofessional coworkers including the Np so I quit. I know I would of put up a fight if I was a RN but a CMA job is so not worth it ! They are everywhere lol! I know I can easily land one and got calls for job offers even after I quit that job but decided right now is not the best time for me to work a 9-5 specially as a CMA. So I was planning Nursing an LPN program starting this August but plan to put it off till January or May of next year no later than that! I want to save $$ as a dancer possibly even pay off my outstanding student loan before I further in debit. But as far as my disability I don't know what's best for me? Stay as a Stripper and go into business house flipping or mentally really challenge myself and further into nursing than do house flipping on the side when I become an RN? I personally know someone that holds a 9-5 and does house flipping and know it's doable! If I were to become a nurse I would make sure to work 12hr shift... I just don't know anymore on what suits me. I know I'm not alone with my disability and have given up on my nursing dream plenty times cause of ppl that made me feel I wouldn't succeed in this profession. I did great as a CMA no complaints except in one of my jobs when it came to remembering certain things. I have noticed I'm a bit forgetful when I get nervous and it sucks, I try to be a people person communicated well with patients but felt so mentally tired and exhausted when I got home, not physically exhausted but mentally! And I know that's my disability. And yes I do plan to eventually give my all in house flipping business but this route is not a get rich quick or as reliable, this business needs some years to become something great so that's why I thought why not have a reliable 12hr shift job and do that on the side. To be honest I can make good money more money as a dancer than a Nurse but it's so hard to get anything under your name if you don't work an hourly job example like a home loan car loan etc. I worked as a stripper when I was 18-19 I'm 25 now and look and feel better than ever and know that once I go back its big bucks for me! Mentally I just don't know anymore I have had disappointments after disappointments in the medical field as a CMA and just question is this really for me? Plus my disability doesn't make it any easier.

I don't know why many posters including yours you straight assume i don't have a passion for nursing ? Things I have stated in my posts do not in any shape of form say I don't have a passion. Yes I stated its one of the benefits of being a nurse is $$ but it also comes with dissatisfying benefits like working 8-12hr shifts, having someone breath down your neck like management and if you simply don't fit in or they simply don't like you for whatever reasons your job is on the line! This happened to me with my CMA experience not once but several times. I felt unhappy so I left. I feel as a RN I would definitely put up a fight for my job it's just much more worth it to me. And yes I totally get what you mean by ppl finding out about dancing. And if it really came down to it like I've mentioned I could settle with dancing make what a top RN makes or more but my energy and ambition want that RN degree. Becoming a nurse not only helps to gain knowledge of helping others but yourself and family

I have stated I never hated my CMA job but hated the personalities of the ppl I worked with that made my job and life hard so I quit. I got along with patients And some even adored me, so I don't get what else I can offer in this profession but my compassion and patience with patients. Like I've told another poster don't judge my integrity just because I'm being smart and thinking what will benefit me long term, life's about $$ sorry to tell you you're not going to make a fortune talking care of others you need a plan B. I sure as hell know mine and that's business by life is so much easier when you're not working under the table.

Amen to that! I sure as heck don't consider this form just a random form if I came on here just like anyone else I'm sure, they are seeking professional advice from nurses, NPs etc. A professional and sure as hell some ppl on here lack education still. If you're a professional act like one put that example for the future nurses!

I was hospitalized not that long ago and I came across the worst experience of my life with nurses that simply were lazy got mad cuz I buzzed one for help to get up. Ive worked at a clinic before and have never once had a negative impact on patients, I was actually liked very well by patients. So please don't come on here and judge and tell me my integrity is poor towards patients, you don't k ow me you just read how I responded to some nurses or nursing students on here. Like I told the other post act like a professional you are stop acting like a high schooler.

Haha not bad idea but I love my husband and the line of work I decide to do don't reflect on my love life;)

I never said I hated what I did as a CMA I just hated the ppl I worked with and their rude comments and attitude that's why I quit. I'm still skeptical on furthering on to RN might just start in January instead of this fall to save $ and pay some student loan off.
