  1. I just wanted to say thank you to every for the words of encouragement and tips on what to do in order for me to get these prereqs out the way. I realized I have my work cut out for me and I know I can do it, just at the time when I wrote these thread the realization came out of nowhere and just became overwhelming.
  2. I do like this idea but my jobs go from 6am to 8:30 with maybe a half hour in between but at my second job there are chances to study and then most weekends I have off. I already have an attack plan on managing all of this. To the post that says if If I can't manage it, quit. I'm not that kind of person to just quit something because it seems impossible because I know I can do it and I will make it through this process
  3. Thank you for the advice. I think what I will do is retake the course just to make sure that nothing was passed up in the course I took in college but I doubt it. I'm now wondering would it be better to take Chemistry I by itself since I haven't taken it since high school or should I take it with A&P I since I still have notes from the course and I still remember some of the material covered in the course. Just don't want to bite off more than I can chew.
  4. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the words of encouragement and knowing that I'm not alone in this. I do have a question though about classes. I had started a thread about A&P and how I was debating on retaking the course or just going into A&P II. I've decided to retake the course because I don't think I am comfortable just jumping into the upper level course. My question is though, would it be better to just take A&P I by itself or combine that with Chemistry I? Been awhile since I've taken a chemistry course (high school) and I'm wondering would it be better to devote more time to that class by itself or take it with A&P? Not sure if that made any sense, but feel free to ask questions.
  5. Hi, I am now in the process of taking prerequisites for an accelerated BSN program. I already have bachelors and for my major and minor they required us to take a Basic Anatomy/Physiology I. I was wondering should i retake the course to brush up on everything or not worry about it and take A&P II since I passed the previous course with a B? That's the only thing confusing me right now with what I need to take. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
  6. I was wondering if anyone else feels overwhelmed with what needs to be taken before applying to ABSN or even a nursing program? I'm in the process of taking prerequisites but it feels like in order to take main ones you have to take other classes before taking the one you want and really you want to be done with all of them within a certain time frame. I don't know if the thought of doing that along with working two part time jobs is just making it seem impossible to complete or it could be that I want to be in a program by next year or so. If anyone has any advice on how not to feel like it's going to take forever to complete everything, I would greatly appreciate it
  7. I have a quick question. For those who have been accepted into the program or looking to get into it, did you have to take the prerequisites through them or were you able to transfer credits from a local college that would count towards them? I'm in the process of being admitted to a local community college to fulfill the prereqs and I would hate to not have those credits transfer over. If anyone could answer my question, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank You
  8. During my undergrad I had a few nursing friends and whenever I would see the things they were doing in their classes, I was really intrigued about what they were learning. At that point I was already set with Sociology plus I didn't want to stay more years and hope I go into the program. One course that I truly loved with Anatomy and Physiology. It's been a year since I've been out of school and now more than ever I have a strong interest in becoming a nurse, plus my aunt was one before she retired and she said it was a very rewarding career for her. I'm currently in the process of taking pre req's and hopefully soon applying to Accelerated programs in my area.
