What did you want to specialize in vs. What you want to specialize in now
Thanks all for your input! A lot of my classmates are gunning for L&D too. I think the entire concept of "playing with babies" all day seems too good to pass up. Realistically, we all know that's not how it is. What about that rotation made you run from L&D? I feel the same way about children. Sick ones break my heart and some parents can be very frustrating. I originally thought I wanted Peds, I still kind of do, however I've never had to administer medication on a sick and screaming child. So that could quickly change. As for med-surg, I'm so excited for that rotation next semester. I really enjoy using my skills in the clinical setting.

Advice for first clinical rotation?
Fake it till you make it! Seriously, this couldn't be any more true for the beginning of every new clinical placement. Work as a team whenever possible and make sure you have your prep work done so you're not stuck stressing out about not knowing an answer. Remember that this is a learning environment, you're not expected to know everything right off the bat, so ask for help and learn from everyone. Some nurses LOVE students, others not so much. And like a previous member stated, don't be the student that sits around when "there's nothing to do"

What did you want to specialize in vs. What you want to specialize in now
I was just curious as to what you guys originally had in mind prior to nursing school/clinical placements compared to what you have decided/want to do now that you've had some experiences on the different floors. I still haven't found my passion yet, although I've only done long term care and maternity rotations thus far.

Are you taking 4 medications? Maybe you can help!
Hi there, Im a second year nursing student looking for help with a patient drug profile assignment. The purpose of this assignment is to create a profile on a patientand the 4 prescribed medication that they are currently taking. Unfortunately I am having a difficult time finding someone who is taking at least 4 medications. The required information is patient demographics (age, culture, occupation, and relevant health history) and information regarding the illness/chronic health challenge that the prescriptions are for. Additionally I need the name, dosage, and other information regarding each of the 4 medications. If anyone is willing to help it would be greatly appreciated and of course, 100% confidentiality is assured. if you would like me to contact you personally, you can email me at [email protected] Provided is the link to the required information, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s-t1rDOolKtV5ab3JW7-rzbOe0s5eMdCBbWY274jrXQ/edit?usp=sharing or you can post your information here if you would like NOTE: The 4 medications taken do not need to be related to one illness/chronic health challenge, although it is preferred that they do
