Random drug test
You may have not been it could have been computer generated. i was simply trying to figure out standard procedure. I just wanted to be educated on what i am considering for a career not be fed false information that people were more than likely taught in a high school drug safety class. People need to realize that marijuana has benefits and it makes me upset when people look at it the same as alcohol.

You obviously have not done any recent research....Saying that cognitive and physical skills is wrong. If someone were to smoke before work you might have an argument. You act like if someone smokes they will be high as long as it is in your system. I honestly question your education in anatomy and psychology if you believe this. THC effects your brain not your fat cells. If something is stored in your fat it is no longer influencing your psychological activity. I am not on here to argue your opinion of weed but in my opinion what people do in their spare time is none of my business. If it is effectlng someones performance because they are coming to work right after smoking thats one thing, but if it calms someone and provides a safe alternative to alcohol or any other drug it is fine by me no matter what profession.

i don't need your sarcasm because if you truly think all tests are random you are just ignorant to the fact people are profiled on a normal basis. I simply want to know if its a common occurrence. Thank you for your comment though.

As a matter of fact i have done my research and know from experience that it would not effect your cognitive abilities and reasoning if you aren't using before. Half life is referring to the amount of time it is in your system not the time you feel effects. Im sure you already know THC is fat soluble and will be stored in your system for weeks if not months. You are telling me if someone smokes a joint after work they will feel the effects the next day? Their have been multiple studies proving that once full development of frontal cortex is complete marijuana has little to no negative effect on the brain long term. Unlike alcohol it also has many beneficial effects and has been proven to be the most effecient natural pain reliever. Biased out of date studies are irrelevant and the "it kills brain cells" theory has been disproven by the research of many current scientists and can actually be traced back to the fact that the monkeys in the original study were deprived of oxygen during the study.

Random drug test
I am just curious as to how many of you are randomly drug tested on a normal basis? I am fully aware of the pre-employment screening and that is no problem but i do smoke weed on occasion and i was just wondering if i would ever be able to do that again as a nurse. I understand most of you on here look at this the same as alcohol but that is just far from the case. If someone smokes after a shift to relax and is not coming to work high that has no effect on their performance on the job. So if you have been randomly drug tested how often? and was it truly random?
