That's awesome! I too got my letter of approval the week after Christmas. I sent my fees about a week ago. I was super nervous when I received the letter. I know there was a shut down this past week, but the boards is set to re-open tomorrow. Congrats Nurse!

Hi guys, So I just received my letter from the BVNPT letting me know that I have passed my NCLEX exam and that there is a hold on my license pending a review of my criminal background. I have a DUI on my record and it still pretty much fresh. I sent in my court documents along with my driving record. a few weeks before I took my exam I sent in my letters of recommendation and a personal letter letting them know what took place and what I have done since.As soon as I had a chance after my arrest I spoke to my DON and ADON and they told me it would slow down the process, but it would not completly take away my opportunity to become a nurse and so I continued the program. Did everything the court asked me to do, held a full time job, and still had the chance to finish on time. Does anyone know how long the Enforcement team takes before they come to a decision? I've read other posts on here that were a bit out dated and would like to know if anyone out there is in or has been in the same situation. I don't know why they would let us go through all of this just to deny you. Please help!! p.s. I've read other posts similar to this one where people bash on student nurses who have DUI's saying that they shouldn't even be allowed to be nurses. I just want to say we all make mistakes and you either learn from them or you don't. The fact that I have a DUI doesn't mean I wont be a great nurse. If anything, it has taught me a big lesson.
