Hello! I recently graduated nursing school and I am on my second week of orientation in the intermediate ICU. So far, I love it - My preceptor is great and I'm learning a lot already. I know this is really a question my preceptor could answer best, but I wanted to get opinions from other nurses as well. What are the best things I can familiarize myself with now to get myself up to speed? I know coming right out of school, there's a lot I still have yet to learn and most of that will come from hands-on practice, but I want to know if there is anything you all wish you had studied more in depth to equip yourselves for the floor? So far, I having been going back over arrhythmias and treatments, brushing up on basic assessment skills from 101, and reviewing my pharmacology and labs.
