  1. Thank you all, I have been pondering this since I left a facility that I was the only nurse or should I say, license, in the place. I am an Lpn, but spent most of my time arguing the right way to do things. I have heard rumors of ulp giving injections(b-12 and others) and passing meds there.
  2. Can anyone please tell me if unlicsensed personel can give injections in an assisted living facility in michigan? Thank you very much.
  3. Thank you all. I have spoken with my Pharm. and yes it can be opened. I ran into a problem with some people at work about this the other night, of course everyone wants to be the "nurse". Fortunately, I am the only "nurse" that works there.
  4. Can anyone tell me if they seperate Detrol and mix it with pudding just before they are to give it to a pt. who has trouble with pills?
  5. Does anyone work for a privately owned assisted living facility?
  6. Thank you for your advice... I will be talking with my boss about starting the inservices very soon, another problem I have is that I have the only licsense in the place, they have RP's (responsible persons) so I tend to bump heads alot, I feel that I am there for the residents and not to make friends, they are only a bonus. The Rp's set up and pass meds, so I have had to correct a few several times on how and when to give certain meds. It took me 2 weeks to gain the trust of one resident and a Rp blew it for me in 10 seconds with one comment, that I was not a real nurse. I called my boss at home, I told her what happened and she was going to handle it. Of course I went and appologized to the Resident, also explained that I was a real nurse and it took me 3 years to get there. I have a liscense to protect and I will definetly do so.
  7. Can anyone give me some advice about teaching basic first aid to nurse aides? I am an LPN in an assisted living center, I have worked here for 2 and a half months. My boss would like me to teach a BFA inservice and I am very nervous. Any advice?
