  1. Got moved up to February too! I was offered both Jan and Feb or stick to April. I just decided to do Feb:)
  2. Had my intake interview the other day.. I'll officially start on April 1st for the RN-MSN program!
  3. I think I'm back to my original plan of RN-MSN program. When I got my transcript evaluation, I got 34 credits left to graduate for the BSN. Even if I breeze through it, it's still not going to be cost effective since I plan to continue going for MSN. I wouldn't save by finishing early and re-enrolling for the MSN. Also, my counselor mentioned that there is a wait time too in between programs. I will aim for a two- term RN-MSN. I'm very driven to finish and get it over with!:)
  4. What were the 3 extra classes? Can you please clarify because when I spoke to another enrollment counselor, he mentioned that there aren't any extra. I haven't been able to compare it side by side, though. Also, you are right. My current counselor mentioned that there might be a bit of a wait too in between 2 programs.
  5. With 34 credits needed to graduate, would this be doable in 6 months?
  6. So I just got my transcript eval and I was able to transfer 86 credits! I only have 61 credits left in the RN-MSN program. How long do you guys think I'll be be able to finish? Is one year possible? I work full time, 36-40 hrs per week. I know it's hard to predict but I just want to have a realistic timeframe to work on. Thanks!
  7. Maybe you should contact the CRNA schools that you want to apply to eventually if it's gonna be an issue. I inquired in the FNP program in my city and they said it's not an issue so at least I'm ok before I start.
  8. Thanks for pointing it out. I've actually gotten in touch with my Counsellor and she said I can start Dec 1st since all my documents are in. I've been thinking about it as well, start my BSN and try to finish it in one term then jump to MSN right away.
  9. With regards to the start date, there's really nothing we can do about it. For the MSN program, there is a bit of a wait. It also depends on when you can submit all docs like transcripts, etc cost-wise, they charge per term which is 6 months $3250 flat rate. How much it will cost in th end will depend on you, how fast you finish the courses.
  10. i know this is old thread but I'm looking into the Post Master's Certificate Program for FNP @ Cal state long beach. I had contacted their admission coordinator and asked specifically about preceptors. She wrote that the school help find preceptors for clinical. If a student knows of anyone who wants to precept, then they will try to get a contract with them. She even said that the school will definitely help secure a place to precept. This is as of today. Is it really true or has anyone had problems with this school currently with this regard? Thanks!
  11. 0Hi, I'm starting on April 1st, 2016. Anybody here starting with me? I initially applied for the RN-BSN program but after thinking about it, I just decided to go for it and go straight to MSN with the hopes of finishing the program in at least 12-18 months. My start date was supposed to be March 1st but I was just told that I'll have to wait one more month. My ultimate goal is to go to a NP program in CA by doing post Master's certificate. I'm not sure which schools would accept, though. I've been looking at other programs but the cost is just prohibitive at this point. I want to earn my MSN at least and go from there!
