  1. I'm trying to make the same decision - is having the tunable feature better than the traditional bell design? And is the cardio worth it above the classic? There aren't as many reviews out there about the III's but I think I'm leaning towards one of those and would love to get it today due to Cyber Monday sales.
  2. I just made one - https://www.facebook.com/groups/uncabsn17/ or search "UNC ABSN '17" - I'll check it later and approve requests to join! Also if anyone is going to the orientation this Sunday, let me know - I'd love to grab lunch before!
  3. Does the school of nursing create a facebook group, or should one of us do it? Might make things easier, especially if people want to meet up before pre-orientations or start figuring out housing.
  4. Hi! I'm starting nursing school in January at UNC (wooo!) and would love any suggestions (especially from past UNC nursing students) regarding what apartment complexes are the best for nursing students to live in. I wouldn't mind being in a complex with lots of undergrads as long as the walls are thick and it's not distractingly loud. I'd love to hear about experiences living with fellow nursing students vs other grad students, since I've been thinking it could be really nice to have roommates on the same schedule as me - has that worked out for people in the past? Nice places that are affordable and close to campus are the ideal - I'd love to find somewhere right on the bus route to Carrington. Thanks in advance!
  5. My acceptance letter arrived earlier today - I can't wait to meet the rest of our cohort! If anyone wants to get coffee or something after the pre-orientation, I'd love to meet y'all!
  6. ahh i live 2.5 hours away so i think it might not come til tomorrow, but i really hope my letter comes today!!! congrats to those who have already gotten in :)
  7. It's frustratingly ironic that I work in a lab studying stress and coping but can't contain my own excitement/anxiety about admissions decisions today! Haha. Best of luck to you all!
  8. the office of undergrad admissions is in charge of the portals, not the nursing school. but if you give them a ring let us know! haha
  9. I finally caved and called the office because I'm too excited not to - portals should be updated Thursday or Friday, and since the letters went out yesterday (but really today because of the postal holiday) I'd guess the earliest anyone will hear will be tomorrow, or maybe today if you live in Chapel Hill.
  10. Judging from past semesters' threads, it seems like letters are put in the mail first and portals are updated a few days later. So, especially if you live in NC, post office workers are our collective new best friends :)
  11. For those of you who are UNC grads, is it hard for new grads to find nursing jobs in the triangle? I'm hoping to go back and get my MSN or DNP a year or two after finishing my BSN, so ideally I'd love to stay in the Raleigh area.
  12. Hi! I'm not sure if anyone on this thread still checks it, but for those of you who got in, where would you suggest living? If I get in, I'll start in January, and I'd love to get a house or a spacious apartment close to campus (or easily accessed on the buses) with other ABSN students. Did most people find it easier to sublease for a semester before signing a lease? Please shoot me a message if you have any suggestions as to what worked well/where to look! Planning ahead is a good distraction for me so I don't freak out about admissions :)
  13. I've been checking the online portal every few days for weeks even though I knew nothing would be updated until at least mid-October... I'm so nervous/excited!
