I personally like nursemates, they are very comfortable and have good support. I recommend that you get shoes with good support and comfortable. You will also need to get yourself some support socks or support panty hose. They will help to prevent leg pain, clots, and broken veins. Most of all they will help with circulation. Fluff01, RN

You were correct in letting your clinical instructor know what has happened and the concerns you have. I wouldn't be afraid of telling, someone needs to. This is how so many patients get nosocomial infections because nurses aren't compliant with using the necessary precautions. I feel the DON or the OR supervisor would certainly like to know in order to try and put a stop to this type of behavior.

The hospital that I'm employed the nurses do the following: once the physician has written the orders for medications, if they 're new meds we will call them in to the pharmacy that the patient uses. We will also write write the meds out on the discharge summary with directions and if they are to resume their old meds, we tell them to continue with them and not write them out. Hope this helps.
