Gateway CC LPN Cohort Fall 2016
@dasdamo :/ don't think about that just yet. They still haven't given students the deferred option yet. The email did state that placement may continue up until the first day of class. I was also reading previous posts about students who got accepted during summer time. I wonder how many applications go in each month. You mentioned you placed yours in November right? Mine was in Oct. end of Oct. @michelly Way earlier than mine lol! I'm sure you will more then likely get ur preferred schedule. I placed mine end of Oct. Do u plan on continuing for RN?

Gateway CC LPN Cohort Fall 2016
@stephanie i requested for the day program, I've put up with so much evening classes I honestly want to do the daytime now. Evening has labs scheduled Saturdays and I honestly would like the weekends available to study. @dasdamo4 The email stated they have 64 seats available and the top 64 applicants are being notified in this email. It seems like I got offered placement. My preferred schedule though was not a guarantee. So if other people who waited longer then me request day, than I'd be stuck with evening. @michelly Awesome! Did u receive a similar email?! Which is your preferred schedule? Early June isn't too far :) she did mention that at that time students would be able to defer if they requested. Glad that we finally heard something. I'm ready to get going lol. When did u apply?

Gateway CC LPN Cohort Fall 2016
Yeah I understand the feeling of making the wrong choice. Nursing was my first option since day 1. But I had changed majors a couple times (such a waste of time). And long and behold I ended up back to nursing. Have u guys heard anything!? I got an email!! (After 3 emails and a voicemail later) lol. They have 64 seats available for the fall cohort.! I was given the day and evening schedule and told to reply by the 16th with my preferred schedule. They would try to accommodate to my preference but of course those who were on the waiting list longer would get dibs first. Not sure what place I was. She did not mention. 64 seats! I hope you guys got offered placement!!! :) it took me a minute to process what I had just read upon opening my email.

Ahhhhh! I'm just anxious to know if I got in or not so I can set up my fall schedule. But I'll let you know if I get a response. Who have u been trying to get in contact with? For the emails, which advisor.

LPN Gateway Community College
They? As in students or the nursing advisors? I unfortunately don't know how big the classes are. I imagine average size 20-30. There are 3 other people who I've been speaking with who submitted their application. I emailed the nursing advisor yesterday but no response yet.

Hey that's pretty cool! What made you head towards healthcare? I didn't make much as a CNA either, but the flexibility and my own scheduling was amazing. Plus the opportunity of being able to experience what it was like in each dept was pretty cool. I was floated all over the hospital, so it gave me a pretty good idea of which path I wanted to take. I eventually ended back full time at my first job as an M.A. I loved the rush of two jobs but my body eventually had enough. Yeah not knowing anything so far is nerve racking. Plus my email is horrible it resembles my last name but i dropped one letter so I'm thinking, "Oh god! I wonder if they typed in my whole last name in my email." I regret my email choice to this day because of that. Seems like they are taking longer with placement for LPNs this year? From previous cohorts blogs, seems like they knew much sooner?

What type of setting? I eventually plan to do the same with the fall semester accepted or not. I've put my job first too many times and it's pretty much just delayed my education. Have u attended GWCC before?

*Manages to forget about the placement going on, does work for about 2hrs then phone vibrates with email notification. Checks email: 3 new messages! Wait .... Oh it's just a bill reminder and sale advertisements. Whyyy oh whyy!! Anxiety begins all over again.. Does anyone know if they at least send out the "We regret to inform you.." emails too? Lol.

ASU/GCC Nursing CEP
Oh I can imagine! I can't wait until I start! Still waiting on notification for placement for LPN. Been waiting one semester but seems like no one for the fall cohort has been notified yet. I'm excited to put my nose in a book and learn some more! If not its okay. I have a plan B for the fall. Have u started clinicals? If so what areas?
-
ASU/GCC Nursing CEP
No I think u may be correct. I researched it last night. How is block one so far!? You must be super busy!! Is it difficult

ASU/GCC Nursing CEP
For some reason I thought ASU had a CEP program. Hmm. NAU wouldve been my next option so that works out great! Yeah I still have a few Classes CHM 130 and BIO 202 which I will try to complete in the meantime, as well as my HESI for a better score. But thanks so much for responding! Are you planning to do the CEP or in the CEP program?

so is anyone here planning to work Full time? Part time while in the program? Are you guys working as CNAs? I plan to switch to part time. Working as an MA has its disadvantages :/ Mon-Fri only 8-5.either that or go back full time as CNA night shift. Wish I would've worked part time since day uno. But college unfortunately is not cheap lol
