I guess the "accelerated" bit is what throws me off. Whenever I've talked to people about ResU, they always talk about the 16 and 20 month classes as being "accelerated" but traditionally (in like...every other school I've looked into), the "accelerated" program is a career change/fast track program that requires a bachelors degree in another major. Whereas, what is special about ResU's program is they have admission all year round and classes start in Spring, Fall AND Summer. Trying to look into other schools but I'm not finding ones that offer summer sessions like ResU

Thanks for the advice. I'm actually almost done with my pre reqs which I have been taking at a community college to transfer into a BSN program. I guess I should be inquiring more about the option of summer classes otherwise it seems like I'll have to do the traditional 2 year route (which is still completely okay with me). Thanks, now I know what to look for more specifically in my searches.

Alright, so it's not an accelerated program but it's a 16 month program and it's year round; their classes start in spring, summer and fall. From what I gathered, this is different from regular BSN programs where you would transfer to a university and complete your degree in 2 years during fall and spring semesters? Regardless, I'm still wondering if there are other nursing programs (or nursing specific schools) out there, like Resurrection, that don't require you to have a bachelors degree in any field (meaning, not a fast track/second degree program) or require you to have an ASN. In my searches, I haven't found anything like this which is why I've come to this board. It doesn't seem like a common program so I'm trying to see if people can weigh in with helpful advice.

Hi everyone! I've been doing research and I've come to something that I'm stumped on and perhaps someone on here can point me in a helpful direction. I live in Chicago and the nursing program I'm highly considering is Resurrection University. For those that don't know, ResU has an accelerated BSN, pre-licensure program that requires no previous bachelors degree. I'm coming straight out of a community college and I really hope to get in but in case I don't, I'm figuring out a plan B (and C and D….lol). I would also love to go out of state for school if I had the opportunity. The problem I'm finding is that I cannot find any other schools that are an absn, pre-licensure AND aren't a 2nd bachelors degree program. I'm mostly seeing that the absn programs I find require a first bachelors degree. Is ResU's program a rarity or is there something else I should be including in my searches to find programs that specifically don't require a first bachelors degree? I am hoping to maybe find something on the west coast but at this point, I feel like I'm lucky to find any program anywhere that was similar to ResU's. Any ideas on what to search for or has anyone heard of other programs like this?
